Where are you getting that number? Going by vgchartz on blazblue releases, they aren’t all that far apart. Continum shift for example sold .36m copies on ps3, .27m on 360.
You know VGchartz just makes shit up right?
Anyone got accurate sales figures? Taking a company’s word for it isn’t enough, they aren’t angels who never fib. If VGchartz is supposedly BS, then where can we find numbers? Without facts all you have is speculation.
It’s not just about making money on another console, it’s if they could make more money by devoting their time to other projects. I doubt releasing games on the 360 or Xbox One would sell at an actual net loss, but they won’t make as much money compared to just better supporting the PS3/PS4 versions or whatever projects they have down the pipeline.
Fucking nowhere, welcome to the industry. Companies don’t want people to know how much money they make or how much it costs to produce the shit they make because it can make them look bad, so that information is not available for public viewing.
Unlike movies and music, the public at large doesn’t really understand the cost or profit of a video-game, and this information could scare potential investors and stock holders. It’s all very hush hush for this reason.
And programs like ID@Xbox should be helping smaller studios to get games on Xbox consoles. http://www.xbox.com/en-us/Developers/id Why wouldn’t they take advantage of such a program, or just come out and tell us that it’s a Sony exclusive or timed exclusive.
Because ASW probably isn’t eligible. This is not a “smaller studio” that needs a helping hand, this is a sizable company we’re talking about here.
That’s just how it is.
They are still and independent studio, so they should be able to qualify. Nothing specified that they had to be a small studio. My original point still stands that if it’s going to be fully exclusive , there is no good reason not to tell us now, so the silence tells me that it will either be a timed exclusive or multi platform from release.
There is a good reason. The reason being that they probably haven’t decided yet.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see this game never come to MS consoles. If CP isn’t going to be multiplat, I don’t see why this would be either.
But this also fails to explain why Xbox is the one to receive R+ first…
Because updates on Xbox are worldwide, not on PSN.
Is there a country that already got R+ on PS3 or something?
And even if so, that makes it make even less sense. Why the fat fuck is it out on Xbox, Vita, and other region PS3’s but for some reason we can’t get it in NA?
Arrgh quit posting these dumb port discussions. I keep hoping we have news when someone posts here.
Sorry, love ArcSys games, but gonna call BS. It is rather hard to believe that their games would bomb so bad on Xbox. Most fighting games have been released across both Xbox 360 and PS3 successfully. I suspect Sony paid them for exclusive rights.
Or at least for timed exclusivity, since we have not heard a definite word from ArcSys.
People don’t seem to understand the reality here.
Arcsys is a Japanese company. Primary profit margin is generated through various product lines including but not limited to console releases, arcade releases, merchandise (including print books), character licensing to pachinko/slot manufacturers/operators, smartphone apps etc is Japanese.
Note that at best, PC and Xbox are marginal markets here.
The market has also changed. There is (a lot of/significant) income being generated by the non-console, non-arcade market. Which effectively means there is less financial leeway to take a chance on console/PC releases outside of the primary stable market.
What this boils down to is that with less financial leeway there is less space to take risks that may not pay off. If the domestic (Japanese) release is wildly successful and generates a ton of income then it may be possible to port from a financial perspective.
Of course there are other factors at play but releasing a AAA title into a miniscule overseas market where profit margins are shrinking is not really high on the priority list for a company such as Arcsys.
Japan got +R. +R on vita probably just for an incentive to buy it since the wait for console was longer
Meh, whatever. I’m going to wait until the third or fourth revision of the game. With a little luck, it will sum up to 21-24 characters
The best way to gauge how well a company is doing in the games industry is to watch its next move. If Capcom (for comparison) Has had 2 of its highest selling games in the last decade Be Zombie Killing games then youll know when you see its launch offering for the next big Console generation be Dead Rising 3 where as its fighting game offerings UMVC3 is getting its digital availability pulled because its popularity is so low that Marvel no longer wants to renew the license, and SF a 6 year old game is just getting another update. So when you see that Arcsys is pulling its support for Xbox you dont need to scour the net for concrete numbers just know its doesnt do well enough to warrant the cost.
Is there even an announcement for the next loketest iirc the last update we got had Jan as the last one I cant Imagine that’s the end of them though.
