Very true, but as far as the characters goes, well, considering that ASW are going to go by the game storyline-wise in which going by the timeline:
A.) GG X only took place about 2 weeks after the original GG,
B.) GG XX only took place 2 weeks after GG X,
C.) GG 2: Overture took place 5 years after the original GG, &
D.) GG Xrd takes place a year after GG 2: Overture,
I’d pretty much say that everyone that expects all 26 of the characters from GG XX: Accent Core Plus to return in this brand new GG title are gonna be in for quite a shock. We just only received 12 of them so far, & there might be a few more coming before the Arcade version releases (as well as possibly a few more characters through the PS3/PS4 home releases like ASW have constantly did with the BlazBlue series), but other than that, I’m not going to get my hopes up of the entire cast of XX to return.
They already said that they plan to add every character from AC, of course this doesn’t mean that it will be on the 1st version of Xrd.
They are aware that story comes 2nd when you talk about Fighting games, specially with GG who its hardcore fanbase is what kept the franchise relevant those many years on japan, not the lolstory.
I’m upset now because I’m starved to hear about another loktest or something new about the game and every time I see this thread bumped, I think it’s more news. This is +R patch all over again. Wait, +R patch never ended…
I haven’t read through all the pages of this thread, but I did have a question because it wasn’t mentioned in the trailer. Where was it said that this was a Sony exclusive?
im not sure if they ever did say that officially, but it was not announced for anything yet but ps4, and no hint at a possible xbone release. considering how many other games i like are only getting ps3 releases lately, i wouldnt be shocked if ggxrd goes the same way.
Nowhere has it been announced to be a Sony exclusive. The only reason the thread states “coming to a Sony console near you” is because it’s only been announced for PS3 and PS4 so far. However, based on Arc’s current releases, most folks aren’t expecting this to go MS consoles.
This. It just wouldn’t make sense for fighting games like this to go to Xbox consoles as well because there’s little to no audience for genres like those (& JRPG’s, Hack & Slash games like the Dynasty Warriors series, etc.) on those consoles like there are on Playstation platforms.
Even BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma is PS3 exclusive after the Arcade version of it, & Xbox 360 used to receive all of the other BlazBlue titles before Chrono Phantasma was even born. Same with Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold: PS3 exclusive after the Arcade version.
Just doesn’t make much sense in this era of already fragmented playerbases to already put yourself at a disadvantage of not being able to play a new GG game because of their console preference. I haven’t jumped into a GG game yet, and was going to wait until Xrd hit and just start there, but if these rumors hold true, I might as well just move on to another series that will actually be supported on Xbox systems, and maybe pick up an older one if it goes on sale.
I agree, it would be very smart to focus on the platform in where most of your audience is in. And that’s Playstation platforms, because some of the genres that I mentioned just happens to sell more on those platforms than on Xbox platforms.
I also agree with this. It would just be considered a waste of time & money porting games over to another system when they’re aren’t going to sell well on that specific platform at all.
It takes money to go through checks, tests, and etc. along with money for printing, distributing, and advertising for the game/discs. If the games doesn’t sell well, the loss occurred from making the product will be greater than the money acquired through actual sales. There could actually be less loss if the game doesn’t have to go through more checks, tests, printing, and etc. at the expense of potential (low) sales. It’s weighing in the benefits across the costs and measuring the bottom line.
Totally untrue, if said sales don’t cover for the costs of porting the game to x console then is just a waste of time and money.
Thei games have been selling way less than the 10% of their total sales on M$ consoles every fucking time, it is foolish to believe that any sane company will keep wasting their time and money on a market that it doesn’t add any type of revenue.
