The PC versions tend to have the best netcode (KoFXIII & AE) & the best FPS. I’m gonna go out on a limb and bet you’ve never played a fighting game on PC before. If PCs were the standard for fighting game tournies, people could use almost any controller they wanted, and we wouldn’t have to worry about the differences between the Xbox and PS3 versions of the game (should any exist.) PCs are much more powerful than any console out there, hell, PCs 5-7 years ago are more powerful than NEW GEN CONSOLES if I remember the specs right. EVERYONE has a PC, which is why I fail to see why people don’t exploit that and play a damn game on it. Especially when fighting games don’t need anywhere near the hot-rodded specs that a lot of FPS games do.
But I love that your whole argument against having fighting games on a PC is because people mod skins. :lol:
Hopefully Xrd will end up on PC, but if not, I’ll cave and get the PS3 version.

I started a “pointless argument” lol…but the logic for porting a fighting game to a PC is WHAT exactly? This PC community that plays fighting games competitively is a myth. Anyone who is remotely serious plays on console and you’re kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

And to even stress that you can run the game “at an optimized resolution” like HD resolution on a tv is somehow extremely inferior is just nitpicking at its finest. GGXrd will be next gen anyways.
This. BTW KOF XIII and Skullgirls have the best competitive communities on PC? Why? Cause they are the best and most up to date versions of the game. Consoles often get games first and updates first, which is why more ‘competition’ is on them.
Anyways I don’t see what people have against a PC port or Xbone port, it is still coming out for PS3/PS4 so what do u care?
For the case of KOF XIII, it simply doesn’t have an online community for consoles. All who would have played it on console simply can’t. One can’t simply and solely attribute PC online community success to having the latest version when there are more factors to case overall. What makes the difference as well is the state of the netcode and how well it functions.

I’ll be running a Skullgirls PC tournament on my laptop in January. Then, if people want, we can choose between AE, KOF13 and every game ever released as a ROM to play as casuals.
Still, the naysayers have a valid point. Sure, most people prefer sticks to pads, and computers can adjust to that easily enough. However, when we talk about pads, that’s a bit more trouble, especially considering how many different ways you can get a pad to work for a PC. I mean, really, if there was one, universal way (PnP or official drivers) to get pads to run, I wouldn’t even have a point.
However, I have a PS3 pad. Now, I can tell you right now, there are at least three different ways to set up a PS3 controller for use on a PC, at least one of which requires the modification of drivers by an independent patch, something I’m sure a few would be skeptic of, no matter how it works (I use this method myself). The other two I know of require Xinput or MotionJoy, and usually, people choose only one method; to do otherwise would be disastrous to device assignments.
This isn’t even coming to those who, for some reason I do not understand, though tolerate, may want to bring in something like a GCN or Classic Pro Controller, or even more archaic controllers, which I can assure you can possibly end up in a big clusterfuck of PnP errors if drivers are wonky. So you’ll forgive me if I remain skeptic about the logistics of such.
There is, it’s called XInput. Even the DualShock 4 supports it now. Majority of games these days already support it and use the 360 controller as some form of base standard. Even using the DS3/SIXAXIS with it isn’t even hard anymore since you can just use BetterDS3 (with the MotionInJoy drivers) and make it act as an XInput device.
