I have to try a crouching Jap!
Wow… :hitit:
Here’s a wierd random bit of info about guile’s super. Remember how I talked about his super being able to punish stuff on block that it shouldn’t be able to punish? I started trying to figure out various ways to punish characters’ lvl1 FA > dash-in. For some reason guile’s medium super(4 frames startup) can punish guile’s lvl1 FA > dash-in(-3 on block). I tried to punish other characters’ lvl1 FA > dash-in with guile’s super and it didn’t work(like characters who are -2 on block with LK super). For some reason this “bug” only happens with another guile. Random…
Also, I found fuerte’s super can punish stuff on block it shouldn’t be able to punish.
- Is far hp cancellable? If not, are you sure it will link? It would be a very interesting combo.
- What would be the notion for getting the Super to connect after s.lpx2+s.hp? I don’t think s.HP doesn’t combo after anything crouching…nonCH or FADC. So I don’t know how it would be possible to keep a **D charge **for that combo.
- I know you can FADC to ultra without a connected FA (on blocked or hit). But can a dash>Ultra work after a blocked/hit Focus? ex. op1) FADC blocked>throw. op2) FADC blocked>opponent mashes>ultra
I have another question. I don’t own a copy of the game, so I can’t test it out. Since you can db > FA > dash >ultra then could you do DB. RK FADC > into ultra as well.
Must the downback be downback without doing a move. Or can you do a move while downback, and then FA and dash into ultra? Just wondering. I only play this game when I got to our weekly tournament, and I don’t own the game. But I’ve been think of some things I can try during tournament play.
I couldgo test it, but since no one has already discovered this, Im gonna say Nah…
I dontb think the charge properties hold for a straight FA to a dash and a normal that is FADC. Also c.RH doesn’t leave the opponent in a juggable state I think.
I would be glad to be wrong, though.
- I posted somewhere that s.hp could cancel into Super in another thread a while back. (its in the wiki now)
- The combo above is just another variation to an old combo, but with the new info from the threads. It’s supposed to be:
charging down-back, crouching lk, standing lp, standing hp, Super. (I can’t get it to work tho so i can’t verify it.)
doing 2x s.lp & s.hp will exceed the charge frames needed to maintain the Super.
So, in theory, you can also do:
charge db, neutral far s.hp, FADC, Ultra (which i’m trying to verify right now)
[far s.hp 5 frame startup + dash 19 frame = 24 frames]
EDIT: this is not supposed to be a combo, just a possible bait.
- yes u can do Super/Ultra right after your dash if they block your FA (verified all 3)
depends on your opponent because everyone has different frames rates for dashes. Check WIKI.
Interesting bait tactic, but it’s not a combo.
yes its possible to db.HK (or any move that can be FADC) FADC into Ultra, but if you land d.HK, the Ultra won’t connect.
If your opponent has been punishing your d.HK, then u can try to land this since you get armor, but its risky. (I like it!!)
don’t waste your time. There’s not one character in the game who can FADC a normal attack then combo something after it, let alone an ultra that has 7 frames startup.
Sorry if i wasn’t being clear enough.
I didn’t mean to say charge db, neutral s.hp FADC, Ultra was a combo. Just a possible bait potential.
I was trying to verify if it was possible to maintain the charge for the Ultra if you FADC the s.hp into the Ultra.
Supposedly, chun can close standing hk > FADC > close standing hk > FADC > close standing hk. Just throwin’ that useless info out there.
Chun can cl. hk xx hk legs fadc etc. The whole shebang should stun Guile. Not terribly hard to execute but costs a super and scales whatever she does after to hell anyways.
Wasn’t looking for it, but Guile can do:
s.hp(close) exc f.dash s.lp
Not sure what other circumstances it works under, but this works against Ryu in the corner.
Pretty useless, really.
Quite possibly “Most Useless Guile Tidbit Evar”:
Guile’s ultra’s second fk is too high for Ryu to ultra/hp.super if timed incorrectly (by Ryu).
Don’t ask me how I know this.
I don’t think it’s possible… executing a super needs a db charge and doing s.lp just removes the charge.
You can go from crouching to standing to super, but I’d say (educated guess) that a single standing move is all you’re going to get, i.e.,
c.lk c.lp s.mp>super
Started fooling around with:
j.hp s.hp lk.fk>super
last night. Sick damage.
yeah… I think it will lose charge. Doing s.lp followed by s.hp (while in the motion of super) takes already a lot of time without a charge…
Off topic: syngin, i hope i can beat hhyphen tonight so we can face each other.
guys off topic, how far have you got in championship mode so far? I faced some pretty fierce competition but so far i’m closing in on G2 -C. played a really good honda and so far I squared off with him 5 times and he has won 3 of these matches. also faced a good viper.
oh not sure if this was mentioned yet but after a lvl2 FA or a lvl1 FA (counter hit), doing Guile’s super will result in the opponent ending up on the other side…very wierd
Hrm, I don’t FA too much so I’ve never had that happen to me before. Is it constant? Or just something that happened randomly?
I got to G2-D and gave up since I can’t find any decent connections to play on…
With mk.super maybe, hk.super definately. I’ve never had lk.super go through an op.
I was hoping the same thing.
