Guile Moveset and Attributes

i noticed that strange occurence as well, i seriously think it is a visual bait of sorts, since it doesn look exactly like bazooka knee impact but you have your charge from it.

its common knowledge that bazooka knee regardless of hit or block is a freen hit so this mightg play into a mindgame of sorts… or not.

s.:lp: > b.:lk: > s.:lp:>s.:hp: comes in handy as opposed to just s.:lp:>s.:lp:>s.:hp: variation. Or use…(hold):l::lp:>:lk:>:lp:>:mp:>Sonic boom.

I have seen it. Playing online I crossed up Sagat with j.mk once. Wasn’t sure if it was just a fluke or what.

Found a use for c.lk b.lk.

If you dash in after a slow boom (cancel or not, doesn’t matter) and find your self just at c.lk range, follow it up with a b.lk for a two hit. Gives you a few more charge frames and looks to be 100% safe (as opposed to a c.mk or somesuch).

Edit: just to be clear - 100% safe after the first c.lk is either blocked, absorbed, or landed.

PS: In case you’re wondering why you might do this over 2 x c.lk: the s.lk (well, b.lk, but you get the idea) has more range - at the spacing I’m talking, 2 x c.lk will connect once.

Off topic again, but thought you would have a good idea. PC version is great except the benchmark shows only 130mb out of 512mb being used from my video card. Any idea why that would be? Thought it would tax my card with the graphics cranked.

Right, so I just stuffed (clean) Dictator’s Psycho Crusher with j.lp(forward). Not sure how reliable this is.

A dictator tried to AA you with PC? Hm, well, still useful to know in case he does a random PC and you happen to be falling down on him from a jump back or something.

Another unexpected tidbit: from a shade closer than full screen, Boxer jumped toward me and I connected an ultra.

Yeah, it’s pretty niche. I’m finding more and more for Guile’s j.lp. Incidentally, I was playing random and got Ryu; that dude’s j.lp is pretty awesome too.

Has anyone noticed any weirdness when jumping into Chun-Li if she does c.hk just before you hit? I can’t find a move with Guile that’ll actually connect - everything goes through her.

Perhaps this is weak or old sauce.

Ken (maybe the other shotos as well) does the same thing with c.mk. What’s worse is that it combos into his hurricane kick. The timing on it seems to be pretty strict though but the hit box appears to be his leg and not his upper torso. There was a 20k+ gp player doing this with great effect against me, it was the first time I’ve seen it. I don’t usually jump against Ken anyways but I started to, just to see if anything would work against it. If I jumped in deep, I always missed even though it looked like I was kicking him in the face, I had to aim for his leg and j.lk seemed to hit more than any other jumpin (didn’t try j.lp).

is that input for dash ultra the secret??? I was doing sonic boom into the reverse tiger knee motion and had little success. Is this the work around.

Instead should i be doing :db: (CHARGE) :r::mp::db::ub::3k:

Im really baffled as to how people cancel from sonic booms or dashes into their ultra…the reverse tiger knee motion is so unreliable…Im assuming your way applies in all situation! am i correct??

you cant go from sonic boom or flash kick into ultra…

you can only go super to ultra

I know the Ken/Ryu c.mk malarkey well, but that’s a really low “looking” kick. Chun Li’s c.hk is massive.

fk(aa) ultra works :wink:

Yeah but how often do you hit someone at the top of their jump with a flash kick?

I don’t even think I’ve ever connected this in training mode. Anyone know how much damage it does? If I find out before someone posts, I’ll edit this post with the damage.

How can you say that?? Gilley does it in his combo video like 3 times and even has an explanation on how to do it on his youtube page. He chucks a sonic boom and as soon as it makes contact Guile instantly executes his super or ultra…he did it with both. I followed his directions but cant do it. Hence my original question on the input necessary for that. Geom Modinside also does it. OFTEN.

So I’ve been using j.mk to stuff a lot of air to air attacks recently. Most character’s jumping attacks are aimed down and towards the opponent, but j.mk twists Guile’s body/hitbox/whatever (I’m not great with the technical terms) so that the opponent’s attack usually doesn’t hit and you get a clean hit. It’s also great cause it comes out so fast. It’s like his j.mp with more range.

Also, for some odd reason I’ve been using Guile’s j.lk a lot too. Inspired by Sabre’s Sakura during the 5v5, I came up with an idea of hitting someone with j.lk, and since you hit the ground before they do, trying to dash under them and start the c.lk-c.lp-c.mp-flash kick combo. I’ve had success with hitting someone jumping with a c.lk, landing, and then crossing them up again right when they land. I’ll see if you can dash under them when I wake up tomorrow.

You need to pay more attention to the ultra, he never once comboed his ultra with a sb, you can only do that for a super. If you didn’t cancel the super from a flash kick, you can then juggle the super into his ultra. The only other way to combo into an ultra is if you hit an airbone target early (on the way up) with your flash kick and juggle the ultra before he hits the ground again, the same can be done with the super.

Hitbox = fail? :rofl:

I’ve never seen it myself, but it would definitely be a wtf moment. Where did it look like you were hitting her when instead you whiffed? Upper torso to face?
