I can keep Rufus out, I actually think thats a fun match in Vanilla(but then again I have airthrow) so I am hoping they are similar to that MU.
Ex GH for Gief is the most irritating for me when I block it. He’s further away on block and I think the recovery on block also got shorter. I think it’s become better for Gief as Guile can’t backthrow Gief on block, and Gief can lp spd if Guile fucks up his timing which is different now.
If they hit you with EX GH, it’s a mind game right after. There’s no option that can beat more of his options he has if he’s got U2. Even FK fadc can be beaten with another EX GH. I think the best option for Guile would be to only use airthrow as a positioning tool in this matchup and just step up on grounded AAing.
the only way guile can backthrow is if exgreen hand is done very close, what would be the best thing to do , jump back? or is there a normal that will be out fast enough , was thinking s.mp sb backfist combo. Anyways, this new buff for zangief will make it hard for guile once we reach corners, no easy way to reset since airthrow also got nerfed and his SPD range got maximized
Just out of curiosity, anyone experience Gief’s Instant U2? Shit is dangerous. God forbid you decide to jump back in the corner when he’s got that in stock. And it covers half screen as well.
Gameoutttt aka now gurasuhoppa G O has been playing more yun than guile, but Geom insider has been playing guile when i thought he said he was going to main E ryu. Also i have seen on Xbox live ranking a british player Imstilldaddy at #2 with guile.
this is good to seen, now im still a beginner, but im a loyalist when i make my mind up on which class i choose to play. Im going to try and go to evo, but just to watch and learn all i can.

The one that stands-out the most is when he jumped at me. Instead of being patient about it, I quickly used the FK thinking I was going to AA him–only to see Guile jump into his U2. That really sucked.

sounds like some of you want a top-tier guile.
this means a lot more people would want to use him because it’s easier to win.
we just want a Guile where we don’t have to work our hardest every match and get steam rolled by a Yun or Yang that’s going at like 60%

i have been having good matches against high ranking yuns and yangs. I just keep on jumpin and doing unpredictable stuff. That hand BS always gets n ex sonicboom cause it doesnt block the second one coming. It does feel like you gotta try hard but you always did.
“Doing random jump ins” is not a good long-term strategy. EX Booms to do damage on palm only does 50 damage, and meter is hard enough to come by as is. Bad strategy is bad.
Where are you getting 11 nerfs at? Go back to my nerfs post. Just reading the frame data numbers he got 21, possibly 22 nerfs. This doesn’t take into account any hitbox changes either.
Im not counting different versions of the same move. I got 11 from this thread. I will dig up my post. I think the frame data may be off in some spots too, since the super frame data was full of errors(remember the backfist one)
Edit: This is what I am counting - let me know if I missed anything. I think others are Super frame data errors(like the -> mk sobat kick you listed) Since the vanilla data matches up with AE.
- FK dmg - LK/MK/HK flash kick damage is 100/120/130 was 130/140/160
- glancing hit FK dmg - [100] to [80]
- backfist dmg - 120 to 90
- U2 dmg - 420 to 300
- U2 startup - slower by 2 frames.
- UDK damage - 120 to 100
- air throw range - 1.25 to 1.07
- air throw startup - 3 to 4 fr.
- boom stun - LP/MP/HP/EX sonic boom blockstun reduced to +4/+2/+0/+1 - WAS +6/+4/+2/+1
- Meter gain - halved on boom
- Booms are CH-able by +20 frames(jab minimum)
I dont think there were any other hitbox nerfs. However you wanna count them, its overboard.

just watched Di3 play a near perfect match with some sick reads and all vs wolfkrones viper guard crush finals, was fun to watch, but we need to do work on the Viper matchup hardcore. She just blows past Guiles control and the chip on her pound is bad. It looks 7-3.
