Guile in Super Street Fighter IV (arcade version)

Well, you won’t be getting any AE info’s from me anymore. Looks like my time in Japan has come to a close. We had to evacuate early and I will be transferring soon.

Can’t wait to take it back home to the states though. =)

excuse the noobness, but i found this channel after reading the guile nerfs in SSF4 AE.

Thanks for the link! Great resource

Guile Deserved every Nerf.

Flash kick damage is too high, not much weaker then Sagat’s TU in Vanilla. Turtle characters with projectiles as good as guile should not have Normals that are as amazing as his nor as damaging…120 for the back fist? Get out of here.

He built too much meter of sonic booms, either keep the meter and increase the recovery or vice versa.

U2 needed a damage nerf, but 300 was too much(Should be 350). It’s such a good ultra, you can punish every single fire ball in the game on reaction, yet good luck to Sagat and Ryu trying to punish a sonic boom on reaction 2 feet away from Guile, while guile can do it semi-med screen.

Guile is easy mode in Super, in AE we’ll see the truly good Guile players succeed and the poor Guile players go to Deejay or another easy mode character.

Classic triple backfist victim

Go lose to Guile in a fireball war with Sagat some more

You’re obviously a defensive nerd.

I play with Guile often and know he needs nerfs, if you play with multiple characters you should be able to see that.

Everything I said was Valid, what wasn’t?

His frame changes are all going to remain the same so you can still do what he does now, it’ll just be more fair.

No one cares or likely is going to respond with you randomly come in here whining and moaning because you get hit by backfists.

Honestly, you sound like someone who hasn’t played the game for very long and is glad Capcom bailed you out.

Guile has/had bad matchups in vanilla and super and now in ae, but most of us don’t go whine in other characters’ threads about it. Go ask/learn/figure it out.

If you want to respond do it in pm.

You know what, you’re right, and I apologize for calling you a nerd it was immature on my part.

For the record I have been playing streetfighter(Fighting games in general) for years, I just wanted to show why I thought it would help in the balancing. For example I played Rufus in vanilla and thought his ex-snake strike and messiah kick needed serious nerfs, just to be fair.

Anyways sorry to ruffle feathers, take care.

A little off topic but I just got done watching Disney’s Tangled. Warahk was great in that movie

I wouldn’t be surprised is some of these nerfs get changed for console AE(dumb name). SB counterhit nerf at least needs reverted. It’s the dumbest nerf ever.

LOL. And yes, if there is only one thing they revert, I want it to be that. It just has “screw you Guile players” written all over it. Next up would be Sonic Hurricane damage +50.

Now im still a beginner, but when i use to play WOW i seen double standards all the time with the new patch notes. To me i feel this is a double standard! And just a stupid nerf at that. If 2 characters in the game get a projectile nerf how and why did the rest of the projectile characters avoid this nerf?

This is where my old wow gut feeling would kick in, but im not sure with the capcom team. I havent been around long enough to get a feel for it.

Bolded because this is EXTREMELY funny.

I’m sorry, but DeeJay and easy mode does not compute.

Deejay and Guile recover much faster after performing fireballs than other projectile users, so the counter hit status is a means of “balancing” everything out. I say “balancing” because it’s not balancing, it’s being stupid.

I really want to like Guile despite all his nerfs, but I’m at a loss of what to do against the twins. The divekick pressure + command grab mixups make me feel like a mashing scrub.

If the game is admitedly unbalanced then they should, without a doubt, balance before going to console. I hate the fact that charge characters are given the benfit of faster recover just because they can’t do a FB on command and then nerfing it with CH status. It stings as much as Guile’s unblockable 3x backfist attack.

Hey, I’m curious about something. If U2 was nerfed to come out slower, does Guile still recover at the same amount? Is it possible to combo a meaty U2 into super? Better yet, a regular U2 into super? I was thinking about it and although it’s still a sucky nerf and if the combo is possible, it’ll only be possible if you cought them in the middle or closer of the Sonic Hurricane. But would it do more or less damage than the super into U2? Yes, the twins can shit Guile out, I’m just still trying to find something worthwhile here. idk, fml with AE Guile.

Oh, and to Tigerslap, FK is just awful recovery on all strengths and it needs to be charged to be effective, if you can even call it that. Up close, FK is almost worthless outside of a FADC option. You can netural jump it and stuff it clean many times over at point blank range. You want overpowered? Check out Guile on the 3DS. That is a wet dream right there. FK FADC U1? Anything is possible with the power of Old Spice and one button super/ultras.

Lol, Guile would be undefeatable in scrub mode 3DS. Endless, chargless sonic booms > opponent jumps > instant flashkick or U1, lol. I bet it would even make yun/yang a 5/5 matchup!

dude wait… I gotta try it, that sounds godlike

**Congratulations on getting into Team Hori.
Do you have any comments on AE Guile matchups for cast as of now?

Dudes, did you hear? Looks like we won’t HAVE to play with gimp Guile in SSFIV:AE! Super Street Fighter 4 AE DLC trailer removed, details : News : EventHubs.com

From the context of watching the video I think it means you can still play Super against people that have Super. I don’t think it means you can play Super Guile versus AE Makoto. I could be wrong though of course.
