I think I’m just not being careful enough then. He can absorb both the hits though so he still ends up either just walking through or lariat, then I’m too slow to notice his V trigger and I get blown up haha.
Also that motion sounds annoying, you’re right you probably wouldn’t ever need it.
This isn’t a super flashy combo it’s just one that I thought is quite reasonable to pull off in a normal match as apposed to the jump in 35 hit combos and it still does a ton of damage. I’ve yet to hit a jump in but I’ve hit many crush counters in the corner.
It’s more safe than trying to go for the entire strong in an online setting and still does enough damage in my books.
There’s no video thread at the moment so I can’t put this there but this is the first time I’ve played against a Guile that actually did a combo video combo in an actual match (34 hits no CA at the end). I actually put down the control at one point and just give him the golf clap as he beats the living **** out of me lol
He coulda flash kicked for the stun after ex boom!
Also, I haven’t seen it mentioned yet feel free to call me out, but after ex boom in corner you can reset with bazooka knee for some shimmy/throw action
about flash kick which one do you use ? they all have the same damage, the range look prety much the same the light one have faster start up any reason to use medium or heavy ? better invulnerability frame maybe ?
In VT, the booms you can throw with the VT button are different from the ones you can throw with charge. They deal less damage, stun, and feel like they have different frame data. The sonic boom thrown is also visually smaller so maybe the hitbox is smaller as well. Does someone have any data on them yet?
The CA is punishable from any airborne hit / juggle on an opponent, with the exception of if the CA was cancelled into from a flash kick. That’s why he’s using the crush counter, since that’s an easy and practical way to set that juggle up.
Most buttons in this game are that way. His buttons are actually a lot less stubby than a lot of other pokes, and most of them are safe on block, with the obvious exceptions of sweep and s.HP. They’re more laggy on whiff than most other buttons though, but imo that’s just a better way to design his neutral than most other characters, since you can remedy this problem simply by not whiffing. A lot of characters got this completely backwards (hello Ryu c.HK).
Mind if I add this to the post I made in the tech thread?
