Guile FAQ...

So far, Vega is really the best character against Guile, as he’s got no real answer to sj.fierce. There’s too many things that the “weak” flash-kick can hit on reaction from the ground. For exmaple, you can flash-kick a c.mk xx cannon drill from cammy no problem, as well as flash-kick most short-jump patterns. Offensively, his backfist is a monster. Against some character you can bait SO MANY backfists with setups from a combination of repeated SBs, sj.mk, and lunging forward kick.

Oh wait, Blanka’s sj.mp owns that shit too. :slight_smile:

how about roll cancel blade kick on vega?? or roll cancel sonic boom? rc’s change the face of how everything is played in the arcade.as for scrubby x box live, i stopped playing that shit it messes with my arcade play totally, and you scrubs just wanna lose 2 me to x copy my shit u know xbl suck man when roll throw/roll flash kick with guile is an elite tactic :lol:

Im with you man, i am a fellow retiree from Xjunk. It scrubs you out so bad… i went to the 'cade and people were asking me why i kept rolling to super, cause obviously it wont work in arcade… fuck you xbox. You goin to Evo Clubberz?

Anyways, RC boom is probably Guile’s best anti-air IMO. RC flash kick is ok at best, the only thing that makes it better is with jump-in trades or crossovers. But RC boom is awesome, no more blanka slides or cannon drills gettin all up in your face. Just dont abuse them, there is less wait after a boom than most fireballs, but you can still get roll-thrown.

what is guiles best groove. how should i build my team around him. should i use him as a battery,anchor,or clean-

Guile’s best groove is C, it has roll (and therefore RC), he can store meter, airblocking (chicken blocking), etc. He should be used as battery because he can build meter very fast and he doesn’t really need to use (which a lot of times will result in your second character starting off with full meter).
