Thanks ill try it out and what do you mean the by meaty does the combo only work on chun?
After you do the fa2, dash-in, b.hk on Chun, you’ll notice that due to her sprite and reeling animation, the b.hk won’t hit on the first active frame; it hits meaty. You should notice the difference immediately. As a test, do the same combo on Ryu until you can land it semi-consistently, then try it on Chun.
Yesterday I nailed the focus dash to ultra! My god it felt good to see it connect ^^
So, attempting the Combo Challenge #8 hard mode with Guile (it’s a challenge Maj put up on the front page)… the most I can come up with is 12 distinct hits against Sagat.
j.rh(1) > cs.lp(2) > cs.lk(3) > fs.lp(4) > fs.mp(5) > fp.boom(6) > FA2(7) > c.lk(8) > c.lp(9) > c.mp(10) > boom > FA2 > b.rh(11) > c.mp > boom > backfist(12)
I can’t possibly imagine getting 15 different attacks in one combo, obeying gauge limits, and especially without repeating a single move (IE: this combo wouldn’t fit since it booms and FA2’s twice as well as a few c.lp’s / c.mp’s).
I was thinking about trying to fit a GHK > EX FK combo in there but it seemed impractical given that you can get more new hits in off of FA2 combo. (I also haven’t been able to film this combo as it’s lengthiness and many awkward links are a bit much for my dexterity in one shot–in chunks it’s not so bad)
What are some of your ideas to accomplish this? Has anyone figured out a way to fit in 15 distinct guile attacks in one combo?
welcome to march 2009
better late than never though…now work on backdash ultra!

Did you see the two already posted?! The 2-pack is Omgwtf lol. Good stuff

From what I know, Abel, and Honda have the widest hitboxes. It’s not about height.
Crouching gives you more wideness also.

Guys, could you help me with FA2 xx dash -> b.hk -> c.mp xx lpSB -> step forward -> f.hp combo mentioned on the first page? I can’t land it on anyone except Boxer - Sakura and Blanka are pushed too far away (haven’t tried on Gen yet).
What is my mistake? Is this combo valid?
If you messed up the backfist part of the combo then you did one of two things wrong: Either you didn’t walk forwards enough before the backfist and the backfist whiffed, or you walked forwards too much and the backfist didn’t combo.
usually after the boom i just hold forward already and i p-link the f.hp . i have this crazy assumption that its the p-link FP making the link connect lol
Make sure you’re getting the b.hk out on the first frame after the forward dash (plinking helps). Against characters like blanka you need to be sure you’re as close as possible after the boom to minimize your walking forward time. If you’re not hitting roundhouse on that first frame you’re probably walking backwards for 1-2 frames before the roundhouse.
Just finished downloading my copy of SSF4!. I have attached a video which shows some of the stuff that wasnt possible in SF4.

It appears that Guiles damage on his normals has been beefed up, but no changes in his movesets. his links seem to be much easier too. Note that in the video the following:
- Guile high kick can be linked into a number of his normals (eg Guile high kick > backfist or S HP or B HK)
- EX flash kick hits twice after Guile high kick. Normal flash kick hits once after the GHK.
- Sonic hurricane can connect after the LK super. hits 3-4 times
- sonic hurricane hits 2 twice after lk flash kick cancelled into lk super
i also like to add that if you catch on opponent in the air with the Guile high kick, you can connect another oneif you are close enough. reminds me of that infamous sagat combo ( F HK x 2 minus the ultra)
I cant get the FADC flash kick to sonic hurricane yet. it is very hard to pull off. Done it once, but the minimal damage you get is not really rewarding.
Hope this was worth your time
capcom really did good there. no we got a new move. df hk
good stuff man
when i was using sonic hurricane it felt like i could punish a whoooole lot more. since i am more defensive with my guile. i could punish like too close of tiger shots… sweeps… too close hado’s. it just felt overall i could punish more
Pretty sure Guile just hit top tier.
can u guys check if the guile high kick has same slow ass startup and wierd hitboxes? is it changed/same? as far as am concerned those were the real problems that move had
After some matches I’m convinced that anti-air d/f+HK is still pretty hard to hit. The start-up is still a pain in the ass, and against characters with good jump-ins (like Cody) it either loses or trades. I can somewhat use it against Zangief and feel that it’s reliable but that’s about it.
To you, kind sir, I must ask…
Can you c.lp > s.hp?
Can you MK super > ultra?
Can you counter-hit far s.hp > ultra?
Can you link into or out of c.mk?
How fast is U2? Seriously, this question has been killing me. To find out see if you can still punish EX greenhand (-8) with it on reversal. I’m not sure if the recovery has changed on that though come to think about it…
Good shit though Hoppa, thanks for posting. (Ooo! Bet you can df.hk > sweep too! I doubt that you could df.hk > air throw, but you should try that too.)
I’m going to double post, because I think you might be able to do…
j.hk > df.hk > hk flashkick xx FADC U2…
…and that would make me happy.
startup time is the same, hitbox has been improved. You wont be able to combo into it after a SB under normal circumstances.
Played around on the timing of the cr.lp > cr.mp link. The timing for the input seems to need to be delayed a bit. I plink my cr.mp in and I couldn’t get it using my normal timing in vanilla. I needed to delay it a little bit.
s.lp > s.hp link SEEMS to be easier. Then again, I could get this one fairly consistently in vanilla…
No crossup mk
FK (far) and AA does 100 dmg all across the board
I wasn’t able to get FK > FADC > U2 out. I guess I haven’t figured out how to do it properly yet. Not used to adding the FADC in…
Charge time for his booms are noticeably much shorter now (as seen in the vid that fuson was in)
Hehehe… I stuffed a Sagat’s Tiger Shot with Sonic Hurricane. Sure, I traded, but it felt DAMN good.
Sonic Hurricane chip damage is pretty good. Chipped an Ibuki to death.
