I have not found a way to correct that when recording, it’s an issue with the device apparently. solidxpanda crops it while broadcasting, I use a different converter all together.
dang it… that sucks. are there any other programs i can use other than total media? to record from the hauppauge??
sucks that you can’t specify the area to record from on total media. you can on xsplit though.
I bought another one that someone else bought ans it works perfect I say op changes the first post with that one
Wow, I don’t get my video cut off that bad. When you guys were saying cut off, I assumed by just a little bit. Mine only cuts off by like a cm or so. Before I wrote this guide, I hadn’t noticed that the video had cut off because I wasn’t using templates designed to fit the SSF4’s hud display. Once I started using those on my streams, I noticed it was off by a bit. If you guys could, post links on different converters you guys are using. It doesn’t seem like many people have had this cut off problem, since a lot of people I know have gone through this converter. But it seems to affect some people. Post some links and I’ll post them in the OP.
yeah the video only shifts over like that when i record directly from Total Media but it’s not an issue when i record on X-Split since i can crop the area i want to stream/record. so it’s no biggie since i won’t be recording directly from Total Media anymore.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004VV8QN2/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details This one works, it’s the one me and that Cito48 guy are using. Yea the cut off is pretty bad, mine wasn’t quite as bad as ImagineVC’s when I had the original converter (doesn’t seem that way, at least).
Awesome, I updated with this converter. I actually use the HDMI splitter from this same company and it works fine. There is no video being cut off when using this one?
xsplit demands internet explorer and flash updates for it to be installed before it will allow me to run the program.
None reported so far. I kind of want to order a bunch, test them, then send them back, haha.
EDIT: If it makes any difference, the seller I bought from was WOWparts.
Are you against IE and flash?
IE is a giant backdoor for every virus on the net to rape your comp.
can you save data using hauppage, to your computer? and then upload at a later time? or how would that setup differ?
You sure can. Just open up the program that comes with the HD PVR (Total Media Extreme). Hit record and it will automatically save to your computer. Then you can upload them to Youtube when you please.
so im thinking about hooking up a webcam and a mixer.
currently i only have streaming directly from my hauppauge. i notice that it records with a delay which is to be expected but i have a question…
if i hook up a webcam and mixer/mic, won’t the webcam and mic be too fast for the delayed video?
let me know!! thanks!!
If it’s hooked directly into your computer, there will be no delay. Since the audio and video on your computer is what’s being streamed, the webcam will match up with that.
Xsplit now accepts Hauppauge as a recordable camera source. It’s a bit buggy right now, so once they get it fixed, I’ll put the information in the OP. You guys can try it out at www.xsplit.com by downloading beta 6.
Are you serious? Damn, that is awesome.
EDIT: I’ve tried it out a bit. Seems to freeze XSplit every once in a while, also audio desyncs sometimes. Not sure if that’s on my end or not.
What’s the minimum PC requirements for just capturing and what would be the minimum for streaming?
EDIT: I’m going to buy a new laptop and want to make sure I can run the the HD PVR capturing/streaming without any hiccups.
How does it work with Mac? Is it awkward? Was thinking of getting a MacBook Pro.
I’m not sure. I think XSplit lists the requirements on their site, as should the Hauppauge. Not sure how it works with Mac, this thread might have some info on that.
