Xbox 360>HDMI Splitter Input
HDMI Splitter Output 1>Monitor
HDMI Splitter Output 2>HDMI to Component Converter
HDMI to Component Converter>Hauppuage HD PVR
Hauppauge HD PVR >Laptop/Desktop Computer
But like others when I open Arcsoft showbiz and go to capture I see nothing. I have tried reinstalling the program and changing the setting on the xbox to 720p etc and reinstalling program…nothing. Any ideas or has anyone figured out the solution to this or what I may be doing wrong.
Occasionally I get the same issues @enV two. Most of the time a bad HDMI cable is the culprit; check to make sure the hdmi signal going to the component converter is good by plugging it into your display. Also, try running the xbox on component cables directly to the PVR to eliminate the possibility of a bad input/connection of the PVR to your pc.
I used the exact setup as the first post and it caused lag. I am currently trying to find the root cause, but I believe that it is the ViewHD HDMI splitter. This device downscales depending on what the lowest resolution is you are splitting to (as indicated in the Amazon.com description:
Now, I am using the EVO monitor and I tested hooking directly into the XBOX360 without any stream setup, and of course there is no lag. I then hooked up the splitter and boom, there is a noticable amount of delay.
I am using the same HDMI -> Component converter as indicated in the original post. One thing I noticed is that this converter is only capable of outputting 1080i signal.
Is it possible that since the HDMI -> Component converter is only able to convert 1080i MAX, that the HDMI splitter is only outputting either 720p or 1080i, thus causing the EVO monitor an additional delay?
I need to do more testing this week. Solidxpanda, did you encounter this problem? If so, how did you fix it?
Im getting this problem. However, I tried ignoring output to the TV and just using the HDMI splitter to the HDMI-component converter to pvr and the preview works perfectly, though nothing on TV since not plugged into the splitter. When I plug my signal back into the splitter, the preview stops and I get my tv signal back. Im thinking bad HDMI splitter. Going to try splitting signal to two TVs to see if hte splitter works or not.
sorry, I’ve been very unattentive to this thread, but your best shot is to search for one on amazon and read the reviews. I’m sure there are much better and cheaper options available.
I’m having an odd problem that I haven’t noticed anyone else post about. I am set up just as OP, and have had the set up working at one time. I originally was getting no sound when viewing video from TME2, I noticed that the light on the HDMI to Component converter was dim and flickering, so I replaced the power supply and it solved that issue, but another one immediately occurred. Now the video feed to my monitor flashes in and out as though it were cycling through inputs.
Notes:
All 3 HDMI Cables work with 360 to Monitor direct.
When Testing the splitter each port works and problem occurs when hdmi from splitter to converter is attached.
Running a component cable directly to my HDPVR and into a TV verifies the functionality of the PVR I believe.
Is it safe to assume the problem occurs with my converter?
My audio cuts out about 1 hour plus in the middle of my recording/streaming.
Think the problem has to do with Hauppauge HD PVR or Total Media Extreme.
Does anyone know how I can fix this? It seems very random and as the audio cut out in the middle of broadcast I totally did not know about it until I checked the chat and people said there was no audio.
I recently tried to set up my hd pvr to stream on the xbox and i wanted to use this set up, but I am confused as to how I am supposed to get the output from the hd pvr into my computer since it doesn’t have component inputs. it only has one hdmi port and that’s it, does that mean i’ll need to convert the component output from the hd pvr back into hdmi in order to stream without running it straight through my computer?
