I had low expectations of this movie. My knowledge of Guardians of the Galaxy was/is pretty nonexistent, so I had no real eagerness to watch it. Combine that with the trailers showing nothing about the plot, I figured it wouldn’t be that great. Man, was I wrong. It was going strong so I decided to watch it last week. I think it’s up there with the other good Marvel movies.
The only thing I wish is they used the voice actor from UMvC3 for Rocket. I don’t care if he isn’t supposed to have a British accent. Tat’s the only voice I picture because of that game.
Finally saw the movie, easily better than the Avengers. Best comic movie to date. People gotta knock off the “but its not true to the source material” BS. Comics are poorly written pieces of crap, even the most popular ones from memory. What you really have to wish for are people getting the spirit of the source material and having respect for what the characters stand for and not change for the sake of being different (new spider-man, man of steel, etc).
Saw this on Thursday night and it was pretty good. Some stuff could’ve been better like the intro fight with the team and some of the humor seem like they were trying too hard.
I disagree it depends on the comic we are talking about. The majority of comic book movies are worse then their comic counterparts by quite a wide margin. I prefer the recent run of the new 52 batman over the Nolan films, I prefer wolverine & the x-men far more then I of the x-men movie franchise and I think the superior spiderman run is a million times better then any spiderman movie.
To be fair, Wolverine & the X-Men and the X-Men movie franchise as a whole both suck, though I’d rather watch the movies than read that particular series.
Superior Spider-Man is one of the best books of recent memory, so it’s no surprise the movies don’t compare.
Overall, very few people are complaining about source material when it comes to events. Funny thing is when source material comes up it’s about change for the sake of change. It’s more about some producer’s/director’s ego thinking they know better than what made the property a hot enough commodity to bring to a movie theater in the first place - ie one of the producers for Guardians not liking Nova thus dragging his feet in getting him in the movies, even though he’s the most popular of Marvel’s cosmic characters.
That’s the director james gunn. However he will probably get richard rider in the next one. Unlike spiderman 3 giving marvel the biggest fuck you ever. Seriously. Spiderman 2 was great then we get spidey 3 and topher was originally going to be ben riley. Which fit since he could have been an alternate parker.
I think the X films are for the most part terrible. The characters are shallow imitations of their comic counterparts that lack all the history and characterization that makes them interesting. I got a lot of dislikes in my last post so I can only conclude that people on here legitimately like the way the movies handled the Phoenix saga better and that they think movie venom, daredevil and the extremis plot were way better in the movies then they were in the comic. I personally can’t understand that logic or how anyone can think movie storm, rouge or any X character in the films can surpass their comic self.
Edit.
The same applies to movie Thor vs comic Thor…if anyone here legitimately thinks Thor is better in the movies then he is in the comic then I don’t what more to say other then you just enjoy DBZ evolution over DBZ.
Just back from seeing this, god damn what a good movie lol
Easily the first MCU film ive seen ive actually enjoyed all the way through, had no complaint with and was glad there was a sequel on the way. Also even Batista was good holy shit.
Finally saw it. It was good even though I knew nothing of the Guardians of the Galaxy storyline. I can see why Groot became a meme on the net now, I wish he was my friend. I wonder if there are more like him or if he lost his homeworld?
The chemistry between the characters were great, Batistalien’s scenarios with literalisms were especially hilarious.
I’m still surprised Bradley Cooper was Rocket, I couldn’t hear it except a few scenes lol.
Thanos is gonna be pissed when Avengers 2 debuts. I wonder if they will use mistress Death later on? Thanos Reigns!
I am insanely worried they won’t ever show Death, and will probably barely even deal with her. I can’t see Disney throwing the physical manifestation of Death into one of their movies.
Imma be honest with you guys, Thanos’ obsession with Death is made him look weak. That nigga got the Gems together so he could be in a universe scale episode of The Friend Zone. No wonder Death wasn’t about that shit, its bitch status.
Death couldn’t be with Thanos because he was a fuccboi. Worst thing I did was read Infinite Gaunlet saga. I was hoping it’d be Thanos kicking ass, instead it was him going “why don’t you love me?” and then going full Otaku and making his lifesize waifu pillow.
It only got worse when Deadpool didn’t even do shit and Death was like “My husbando” then Thanos pulled off a bitch nigga move and made that nigga immortal so he couldn’t have her
