I feel like there’s not enough stock info for the game online, outside of the the usual “blah blah save Lester missions for after the game” stuff, so I’ve had to find info on my own.
You really have to keep an eye on details. Like that plane you shoot down in that mission for Martin, it’s an AirEmu plane. Haven’t tested it, but its possible their stock goes down and FlyUs goes up.
Same with Solomon/Devin missions, which may affect the stock of Solomon’s studio, Richard Majestics. The stock for that goes down so you could invest and wait for it to go up (if it ever recovers after Meltdown releases, that is).
One stock to def invest in is Vangelico, the jewelry store you rob. It stays low for half the game. Once Mike/Trevor are exiled, it starts to climb really fast. At this point Mike is really the only one that has a million (if you did the jewelry heist right) so for me I invested with Franklin.
So this is the magic that is GTA Online? I have a fat Xbox too so I sort of have to wait till next year on PC, but it sounds like that shit is going to get crazy.
I accidentally discovered a cool feature. While players in your free roam lobby are doing a one on one deathmatch, one of the channels on the tv in your apartment lets you spectate the players. So im sitting in my apartment in los santos, watching my friends shoot the shit out of each other out in the desert while a weazel news banner is on the bottom acting like its news coverage lol
EDIT: Actually i could be wrong. Maybe you can just spectate people from the TV. It never let me do that before.
Yeah, my time with it was limited, but it was damn good fun while it lasted. All I can say about what made the above story different compared to other games was that virtual money was at stake. I mean, I honestly had no idea how much money people take off you when you die, but just like in real life, I wasn’t about to let some random jackass take it from me. As it is now, money is tough to make and easy to lose, so these random encounters have a lot of (fun) added tension to them.
You drop a small percentage of your pocket cash. A friend accidentally ran me over while i was holding 40k from activities, and i only lost a grand. You dont lose it all. Also, theyre called atms. Use them. Or the online banking function.
I need that 500k man. I’m tired of being the only guy in the crew that doesn’t have an apartment or garage. Money is hard to come by for us low level guys.
I finally beat the game Sat nyte. Did ending ‘C’ of course and was happy with how it was handled. Might go back and do the other two, but dunno. Anyways…so I’m rich now right. First thing I do is buy a garage for Michael, get him the Bentley, trick to the max, then do the same for Franklin - only its a Bugatti. Chrome with metallic black lines, maxed out everything…maxed out acceleration, THEN added a turbo on top for shits and giggles. I decide “Hey SRK was saying doing the assassination missions now that I can dump real money into stocks”. So I go to the construction yard, park across the street, snipe the first guard, then go about my way blastin fools. I kill the guy, come back down stairs to get my whip and go home…

And my shit is GONE. Niccas done took my $1 mill+ car. I catch a fuggin CAB back to the grove street garage and the shit is empty. So I fly into a rage, throw a grenade at the cab that had gotten pinned by two busses, have a shoot out with the cops for five minutes (I didn’t run screw that I was heated)…couldn’t manage to get to 5 stars though which was weird…and eventually I hid in a bush till someone randomly found me, killed me, and I respawned at the hospital.
So, if you buy a car, if the shit doesn’t end up in your garage the shit goes away? Please tell me that’s not life, I’ll retire from the muthatrucka right now if that’s so.
Man, Trevor woke up on the beach when I shifted to him once, some fat chick walking buy started talking shit, so I switched to a pistol and shot her ass.
She fell over and people ran. then she got back up and kept running. It took like 4-6 shots to put her down. Felt like that old eminem song…“I shot her 5 times and every bullet bounced off her”
If you leave a car alone for a long time or if you go really far away it counts as being ditched and it gets towed. Its virtual LA. They’re not nice guys that take it back to your garage for you. That shits in the impound. Go get your Bugatti back.
w00t, I’ll try tonight. I was REAL heartbroken though, pull up in a Bugatti and leave in a cab…I’m just saying…that hurts haha.
Is there anyway to pass cars between characters? For some reason, Franklin sees that drug truck every five minutes that Trevor needs.
Also, after you beat the game, what missions are there? I’m waiting to see if there are any other assassination missions left for Franklin, Trevor’s got to get some d-rugs, and Michael’s got ‘nothing’ right now. I ‘know’ there are missions left, just not really sure where to go to get them. Phone call everyone?
Maybe if you can get two characters close enough you might be able to trade off vehicles. But that’s a pain in its own rites. Also the deludamol truck is in front of every hospital that isn’t in the desert. Hold a grenade with Trevor and you should see one when you respawn.
Any car i jack (never bought a car yet) an i like… take it to your garage… and save. Any ride lost… LSPD impound an just give up the 250 an get it back (had a tricked out veloci)…
funny thing only person ive been doin saving rides an such is franklin… thats its cause he i use him for ALL races n such.
a quick opinion. i drove around this weekend an REALLY looked at this freaking map. there HAS to be DLC coming soon. i know there is online but online seems to be hit or miss according to you guys so im looking at the extras that may be added later like they did for GTA 4. i really hope so cause honestly…i did not feel these characters n the storyline fully. R* usually gives you depth with a character not only just them directly but a supporting cast as well. as much as i didnt like NICO from 4 i enjoyed his story… Tommy Vercetti… sure ya tony montana meets goodfellas but still… CJ… hey he had a supporting cast to get him. These three… meh. So I am hoping the DLC will be added later (hopefully) to help add into this massive world an make up for the storyline with these characters.
