4 patches within fours weeks? That’s def not something that happens often. I feel bad for the people that get the game later on and have to sit through all the updates when they first boot up the game.
For those that care, the GTAV Manual app is now out for Android finally. iFruit app still nowhere to be found. I already installed the manual on PC last week so its no big deal to me, but it’s cool to read through it. I learned a few things.
Is that how updates work on PS3? On Xbox you just download the single mot recent update and youre good to go.
Unless its some obnoxiously large required data package. cough cough Battlefield cough cough
I’m on Xbox. I’ve had to download multiple updates for games before, most recently when I got another console months ago.
The problem here is that each GTA patch is huge, and they can’t put them all into one singular package because Microsoft has data size limitations in play. That’s the reason it took so long for the Skull Girls patch to hit 360. I just don’t see it happening, but they’ll figure something out.
Was doing some single player stuff since I can’t last online very long, came across this, now my new trevor mobile, complete with coffin inside. Pretty hillarious.
I haven’t been to that cemetery yet. There’s still so much to see and do in this game.
I did the triathlon yesterday. That shit was fun.

Also im not sure if it’s because i had 60% armor on it or not, but me and friend tested vehicle drops yesterday. We noticed that vehicles can drive away unscathed from some ridiculous drops as long as it lands on all 4 wheels. So he stole a cargobob and i got out my hummer. He hooked it and flew it about 60 stories above a 4 land highway. He dropped me and i managed to make it land perfectly. It had a single fucked up wheel but otherwise it was fine. We switched roles, he fucked it up, and it survived the same drop landing ENGINE BLOCK FIRST because it had 60% armor on it. SUV’s with armor are fucking tanks man.
I still don’t really get the point of armor. F’s car has 80% armor right now, it can take hits easy but I still get fucked up by bullets while inside. What’s the point?
I swear Lollipop was in the story. As one of the hookers the characters talked about. And in 3 that chick was a hoe in the game to iirc
Lollipop (Lola Del Rio) wasn’t in IV. People said they saw her walking around Times Square/Star Junction, but that wasn’t proven. And there’s been fake screens of her in the game to.
Misty was on the cover of III, and she was the chick you took back to Luigi’s club in one of the first missions, but besides her no other chick has been in the actual games.
Cars take impact damage much better. You know that fucked up hotwheel tire that makes it impossible to turn or get speed? You can take 3 or 4 crashes that shouldve given you that tire before it actually happens. Unless you ram a brick wall head on at max speed. Basically it keeps your car in perfect working order longer than a car with no armor.
Also, its body panel armor, not bulletproof windows. Of course people can still shoot you. I havent tested the effects of explosives against armor yet though

I just feel like the LS Customs guy says your car could probably take a hit from a missile, jokingly. Even so it should be able to take bullets. Come to think of it, why the fuck aren’t there bulletproof windows?
Driving around in the game, I get a sense of what R* will add as DLC later on. Like how the casino says “opening soon” in front and all the additional slots for weapons in Ammu-Nation. Next year will be fun when new content starts dropping.
Perhaps because it would make being in a car unbelievable advantageous. Nonetheless I think it should still be there. Probably just extremely more expensive than they are in real life. Maybe say they are extremely hard to sneak into state lines are something.
Or you can unlock them at Lvl 70/80+

Got the game on Thursday and have exactly the same problems as Pimp Willy. The most its ever run in one sitting is 30 mins before hard freezing. Not sure now if I return the game and accept that GTA V might never run well on a fat Xbox or wait for a patch. I don’t have a lot of experience with this (don’t know shit about programming) - but is the hard freezing for old xboxes something that can be fixed in a patch? Or is the hardware just too old?
Just so the post isn’t a complete sob story - I did get to try out online in one sitting and was sitting on some money. I read (on this site) that you should always deposit just in case someone kills you - so I ducked into a tattoo shop in the desert to do my business. I finish and sure enough I see a white dot screaming up the highway. I walk outside and see a pick-up with monster truck wheels (or a really high suspension) bearing down on me. It barely misses me and I jump into my car and get the hell out of there. The guy chases for 5 minutes straight in that monster truck - I felt like fucking John Connor. I get some separation and hide in a convenience store. The guy tries to ram the truck through the door and gets stuck, at which point I casually pull out the pistol and headshot him. Then I steal his truck.
The hardware is fucking ancient dude. Slim models are kind of less so. Fat models had a lot if design flaws
Yeah, no doubt. But isn’t the point of consoles that they can play every game in the library? I don’t know, maybe this is going to be the new standard of consoles going forward: First-rev launch consoles won’t be able to play late-era games.

Well like I said the OG model had design flaws. Optical drives crapped out kinda fast and the air flow is really bad in addition to shitty exhaust fan placement. You can tell they kinda rushed it out the door. The newer ones actually had some thought put into the design and have less hardware issues. Also remember the fat model was designed for a time when installing games wasn’t a thing. It probably can’t handle pulling data from two sources.
