If you ask me Franklin’s worse personality trait is not saying no. The man’s life should be such better by learning this two letter word
Yeah thats true. He rolls with way too many punches.

Yeah thats true. He rolls with way too many punches.
That’s what he’s trying to fix though. He acknowledges that he is a “yes” man and it eats him up. When you meet Dom, and even Beverly he says so himself. Trevor and Mike do hang with him but its up to you. Even then Trevor still visited when he was in the hood. Franklin shits on Lamar but it wasn’t out of pure hate. He still rolls with him when he needs to ride but he be on some fuck nigga shit a lot lol. Like getting ripped off a ki so blatantly. Frank was just trying to level up.
Franklin ended up being the most reasonable, rational and most thoughtful character of the 3. Imagine that.
Trevor was so much of a hothead that it hurt. Michael had good intentions but his past kept catching up to him.
lamar is pretty funny, i found he even had a bit of charm, it’s a shame he wasn’t in the game more.
He’s probably one of the few people in the game i dont want to kill, him and solomon, the rest are scum with no redeeming features at all
In before R* makes you kill Lamar in a mission in GTA 6.

SA didnt age well? Ill have to see that…
I like V alot. Like, really alot. Like, so much I cant wait for online. But the map size being underwhelming to me and the annoying change clothes of characters when I didnt want them to change clothes irritate me.
[details=Spoiler]also, franklin was bland. Michael was a bitch. And Trevor was fucking annoying. One second hes normal and cool and funny the next hes raging for no reason. CJ had more charm than all 3 of them combined.
I think you remember SA with a touch of nostalgia. I was actually upset that I paid 15 bucks to buy the game (but not that upset). In light of modern gaming conventions made standard by the PS360 era…SA plays like shit.
Like.
Shit.
Driving is such a pain (moreso than GTA4), camera is really fuckin wonky which I don’t think a lot of people remember about it, and the shooting mechanics, like any of the PS2 GTAs are antiquated jokes. Physically playing SA SUCKS. I still love the sum of it’s parts though.
And how is CJ not bland? He’s damn near just an avatar like Claude. Without Ryder, Smoke and Catalyna, SA story would be boring as fuck. Sweet, Kendyl, Cesar…all snorefest.
Woke up in that new bugatti
Drives to the other side of Grove St to let em know I woke up in that new bugatti
Gets dumped on in that new bugatti
Bugatti shot up an wasted… woke up in that new hospital bed
goes to army base… steals tank
goes back to grove st about that new bugatti
ballers woke up in them new gravesites
I must say regardless of a few gripes I am having fun and ENJOYING this game. I really see how far we’ve came an damn im scared to see the future of this ish. I remember play SA an Vice City thinking cant get no better lmao.
I like all three characters… all three need supporting cast to make them who they are. I know a lot of folks are running thru the game just to beat it but I am literally taking my time with ish maximizing it all. Seeing all the detail R* has put in this game… from the gangs ways of talking/acting (i mean ballers/grove st fam are a block from each other…just like how it is in LA) to how the city acts towards the characters to even the online (via ya cell) world acts. Just amazing imo.
now if nikki can stop havin these damn uti’s an shyt we would be iiight lol

I concur. I actually really like all three characters. The format is perfect - you can think of it as three different characters or one character with three aspects. I’ve found over time that I’ve united them into the ‘single character’ concept - so they all just represent different aspects.
So to me while Franklin & Michael aren’t cray…that ‘aspect’ is balanced out by how over the effin top Trevor is, and while Trevor is too left field for me, its balanced out by the more relatable Michael and Franklin. Add in where I am personally in life and I feel like I’m between Franklin and Michael - trying to not make mistakes, trying to move forward, etc. So I think the three character concept lets you paint yourself over the characters better. Looking back at previous GTAs, the only character I ever liked being was dude from Vice City, the other characters have all been too unrelatable for myself (and I honestly just hated SA…I played it a good bit, but the constant need to do shit like eat and work out just brought the game down for me) - LC was generic, SA just felt ‘fake’ to me, IV dude was puzzle for most of the game - at least to where I am now in that one (the mish where you save your cousin was the last one I remember).
To me, the game is a ten. No question. Not even hype based as my expectations coming in were low after quitting on SA and 4. @ShogunZ interpretation is spot on. There never has been and never will be a perfect game - simply because of player taste, but from an open world view point - its as close as we can get. They have plenty of side stuff to keep it ‘open’, yet the game keeps you close enough to the rails (unlike SA) to stay focused on moving forward. The characters have enough personality flair when mixed together to make it interesting, with three different people there is going to be SOMEONE who’s at least partially relatable. They tightend up the controls to the best ever really. Graphics…well the consoles seemed push to their limits at this point. Even things like the sense of speed are done frighteningly well. This is the first GTA since LC where I don’t feel as though the story gets pushed out because of the cops. I feel that if I don’t want to tangle with cops, I don’t have to (and with the large ass cities I absolutely HATE running from the cops, because it would end up with me having to spend an annoying amount of time getting BACK to where I was trying to go while not triggering cops AGAIN.
I think the biggest reason I cna give it a ten - besides my sheer enjoyment with it…I don’t sit there and say “I wish they did this or that”. I’d like to change up the soundtrack a little, but that’s really it.

For some fun, walk up with Trevor to the hood (grove street works nicely) and interact with the bangers (press right on the dpad)
Trevor says some hillarious shit to the gangs, he don’t give a fuck
Still think it’s a good game, a bit of the shine has worn off now though, alot of things really niggle at me when playing though.
I can’t front the first time I liked Trevor was when him, Lamar, and Franklin went for the drug deal. The way he called that shit had me noddin in approval “Man ya’ll niccas need to flip that brick son, flip the brick son, Trevors a pro! Ya’ll need to keep this dude around son!”
Then I was like
“Wait…wtf is that a key to?”
- :bluu:
EDIT - and then when the cars came out? I remember Trevor still had the grenade launcher from his early solo arc…so a car would turn the corner, switch to Trevor, switch to launcher, BOOM, switch to AR, switch back to Franklin.
Damn Franklin just isn’t a hood name…everytime I type it I want to change it to like ‘Frank’ or ‘Franklyn’ or ‘Fuquawn’. The shit was like when Eminem was doin the last joint in ‘8 Mile’ - “This guys gangsta? He’s real name is Clarence/ And Clarence lives at home with both parents/ And Clarents PArents have a real nice marriage”.
- :bluu:
Loved trevor the moment he walked in and re-introduced himself in michaels kitchen… i got him looking like rick rubin so it makes it even hilarious…
who i cant stand… michaels family…
Yeah, my Trevor is Rick Rubin also

Though right now - I’ve got everyone dipped in black on black and Raider style gear…we robbin crews.
- :bluu:
Rick rubin and the baseball cap is top tier Trevor. But how do you keep the beanie? You know when he is in the construction outfit or doing the sub heist? I never found the option to wear it outside. The gloves too.
In case any of ya’ll are still clueless about who Leonara Johnson is, visit www.whokilledleonarajohnson.com in the game.
Those corpse photos are not pretty. That chick got Black Dahlia’d.
there’s nothing wrong with the game, the game is perfect.
just think, there’s many linear games that had to be linear in order to keep its quality, this game is open world and juggling three characters
with almost zero loading :wtf:
I wouldn’t give the game a 10. I think after the initial “holy shit” factor wears off and you realize how much better than IV it is, its easy to get caught up. I think it’s no less than a 9.5.
-
Having only one strip club was kinda lazy of them, and unrealistic just for the sake of how many clubs are in California irl. Was good of them to have 8-12 different individually named strippers that work different times of the day though.
-
The in-game internet is a total shell of what it was in IV. They took steps back with this.
-
There should’ve been in-game pet trainers to take Chop to. Relying on training through an app, which is still problematic and is only on one OS right now, was a poor decision. There’s still a large amount of people who don’t even own smartphones or tablets and therefore are stuck with a dog that doesn’t do shit except shit.
-
Many of the missions are fun and more conventional, not forcing you to shoot up a ton of people all the time. The fact that you do not get paid for the majority of them is another story. Its realistic, but hey… players want that money.
-
The car mod upgrades aren’t all that special and they really don’t boost features too much either. I miss hydraulics and all that other silly shit from SA, but that was the 90s and people rarely do that shit in 2013 so it makes sense. This of course is also pushed back further because of the garage glitch which will make your car (and wasted money) disappear.
-
R* borrowed a couple things from Sleeping Dogs. I wish upgrading your safehouse was one of them.
-
A lot of the characters are not memorable. Martin Madrazo and Devin Weston feel like the same person.
-
People should be able to choose what snapshots to upload to Social Club, not have them all automatically uploaded.
It’s a fun game with a LOT to do. The control scheme and use of the d-pad is outstanding. I just think in the end, this was another step to greatness and a preview of how flawless GTA 6 will be on next-gen. But for now, V is the best GTA to date. It has its major share of issues. I was using Trevor’s phone and there was an error where one of the numbers showed up as html code. There’s hella glitches.

Anybody tried this yet?
Michael related spoilers
I wish Michael followed through with his threat to kill his wife in the Reuniting the Family mission. I don’t know how Michael just takes all the shit she throws at him. Bitch gets upset of the times Michael cheats on her while she sucks off anything with a penis on it. Why Michael continues to let Jimmy live after drugging him and stealing his car I don’t understand.
Why the fuck does my game keep freezing right near the end of really fucking long missions? Holy fuck that’s infuriating
Oh, you just got the architect and I explained the next heist to you? Have a freeze?
Oh you’re almost out of the building from the heist? Here have a freeze!
Now rewind and spend 20 minutes doing that shit all over again. Muahahaha.
FUCK.
