Didn’t expect my post to show how much of a divide there is between gta fans. Some want gta to go back to the silly cartoonish vibe and it’s kitchen sink direction while others like myself prefer 4’s new focused and mature approach which unfortunately for most of you will probably be continued in 5. But you guys have Saints Row3 to satisfy your mini game riddled true sandbox desires.
I look at the gta3’s as mindless fun but 4 was a masterpiece truly deserving of the praise It got critically. NThe game was fun Definitely better missions then other gta’s but the anticipation of the next cut scene is what kept me going I hope 5 does the same.
As in rob people in the street? No you couldn’t do that. I think San Andreas had a side mission where you could rob people’s houses during the night. The police were toned down in IV and it was a lot easier to get rid of your 1 or 2 star wanted level. As far as police cars flying at you from other lanes and shit I think that only happened when you had a really high wanted level and I liked the craziness, but I do agree that it should be possible to reduce your wanted level no matter how high it is without a cheat code. I remember since III trying to see if I could reduce it by getting the police off my trail, drive far enough so that none of them would be around to follow me and then catching a subway to take me all across town, but once I got out I found a gang of soldiers waiting to gun me down.
I was just thinking the other day, while watching my brother play Lost and Damned, that it was about time for GTAV.
I was disappointed that Rockstar didnt incorporate alot of the stuff they did really well in that “The Warriors” game they made in GTA IV. It was sweet mugging people, picking locks, stealing stereos, tagging, and what not and having them all be their own minigame. I also preferred the way you could customize CJ in SA with all the gear, hairstyles, and weightlifting to Nico’s limited wardrobe. My CJ got swagged out with each location he was in and it was a big part of the fun for me. In GTAIV I didnt even really want to explore after the first few days playing and just cabbed it everywhere.
ALSO : Bring back Turf wars.

The Warriors was such a sick game! Damn straight they should of added that stuff in GTA.

SA and Vice City were my fav GTAS,GTA IV was alright to me,I couldn’t really get into it

I’ve mentioned this in other threads, but I get so many people in my store asking if I have GTA4 because everywhere else they look, they only see GTA IV(eye-vee)

Well just my luck with GTA 5. I recently (like 2 months ago) bought all GTAs on Steam for a ridicously low price and I’m doing a GTA marathon, from start to finish. I played GTA 1 back in the day for a couple of hours and GTA 3, I think, for like 10 min. Only know the games by name.
I did beat GTA 1 couple of weeks back and that shit was HARD AS FUCK!!! The last missions, Jesus christ. What’s funny about GTA 1 is that the 3 towns in the game are called: Liberty City, San Andreas and Vice City. I never knew that, and was quite stunned to see the “continuity”.
Started playin a bit of GTA 2 and… how should I put this… WHY IS GTA 2 SET IN THE FUCKING FUTURE??? Fucking weird ass cars, cops are Judge Dredds, corporations and shit it’s so far from any of the other GTA’s I dont know wtf to say.
Anyways, I got… like 6 GTA’s to go before 5 comes out, I have time.
If Grand Theft Auto V wont allow me to rob people at gunpoint, and kidnap and hold people for ransom then we simply haven’t come far enough as a society, and technology has failed us.
Welp. Today’s the day. We’ll just twiddle our thumbs until eight hours pass.
