Is anybody else not exactly a fan of how much fucking harder it is to outrun the cops? I mean I get that they have to up the AI a bit but jesus christ you get two stars and theyre on you like white on rice. In no other GTA have i seen a police chopper at 2 stars. Worst part is that you cant OUTRUN the cops. you have to get to them into a searching state, then hide for like 5 minutes.
Also I just got Book of Eli’d. Im driving down the road to do a mission as Michael, and I hear some bitch screaming for help from the side of the road. I get out and follow her and she starts running saying that some guy is beating the shit out of his girlfriend and she doesnt know what to do. She leads me in between these two houses like shes taking me to the backyard. 2 vagos come out from around the corner and another hops the neighbors wall, one of em shouts “somebody took the bait!”. Luckily I already had a gun out because i was expecting to shoot the guy she was supposedly leading me to. Dropped all 3 of em and killed the bitch who lead me to a trap for good measure. She asked me not to, but fuck your shit you tried to kill me.
Yes… the map is based of their [rockstar] series of Midnight Club, LA Noire[ which i feel they got this fine detail from] and obviously the previous SA.

Since it’s mostly just Los Angeles with a different name now, I havent seen much. Grove Street is back but its appearance is different. The bridge overpass is gone, Ryder’s house is kinda there but its a little different. CJ’s house is gone altogether, as is the little basketball court there.
The old gangs are back. Grove Street, 3rd street ballers, Vagos, and the Aztecas with the addition of The Lost out in the desert.
Did i mention that Grove Street is fucking Ballers territory?

I fully agree. There cane be no cops around i f you shoot someone or rob a car you instantly get a star no matter how far the nearest cop is. And these niggas spawn in front of you too. If you’re in a truck you aren’t getting away. Its as hard as GTA 3 police. Even more.
You can actually scoop up his load of jewels if you drive close enough to him. That’s exactly what happened to me but Franklin snatched that shit when I went past him.
Also sarangha I have seen any pop ins on 360 except for this one instance where a car wasn’t colliding with the ground right and he teleported up and wrecked the fuck out if his car when I got close. But no texture popping at all
I dont care anyway im not even that bothered, since im getting next gen at launch its always gonna look shitty to me though they’re more than likely to release a patch
The 360 pop up issue is only if you install BOTH discs. It would be loading textures from the HDD, which is exactly what the PSN version would be doing. He’s just trying to say it that way to make it sound
I love how they spent the entire time praising the 360 version on everything else, but give the PS3 the nod for textures. Sounds legit. I think they wanted to throw the PS3 a bone.
Fun fact, The camera is liable to freeze your game after so many failed attempts at uploading a picture.
Pro tip, when you quick save, it saves in that exact spot. You save on the highway doing 120, you load the game on the highway already doing 120. Think fast neeeeiiguhhhhhh
Well, it was an interesting way they approached the problem. Obviously with limited memory, you can’t have the entire world loaded at the same time. So you have to stream them in as things load. They found that if you just had shit coming in off the disc, it didn’t load fast enough. You hit the max disc read speed, and things would be bottlenecked.
At the same time, loading off the HDD was the same thing, bottlenecked by HDD read speeds.
So their solution was to have a streaming system set up that can stream from the HDD and the Disc, and max out both flows of information, and then they can get shit done faster. And I’m guessing what is on the HDD and what is on the disc was carefully chosen for maximum efficiency. It’s pretty genius.
The side effect, is that if you have both the install disc, and the game disc, on the same source (the same HDD) you’re only going to be able to load half as fast. There’s no way a patch can fix that, unfortunately, unless PS3 lets you run a flash drive as well and lets you split the install between the 2 sources to improve performance.
I think which strippers you can take home is random. It let me take Nikki home. Fufu turned me down though. It gave me the little corner box that says “Fufu doesnt sleep around” and i sat there and laughed for a good minute.
