The christians took lots of stories from the greek mithology and even from other regions as The Flood is ripped from Gilgamesh’s heroic tale but it isn’t questioned because they smartly say, our god do the right things when things are obviosly wrong so they are never wrong but just right in god’s way. I think it’s bullshit I’m a mystic from the Shin Megami Tensei/xxxholic Temple of enlightment lol.
Speaking of Greek Religion vs others, One beef I’ve always had is how a lot of people think both the Greek and Roman Gods are the exact same, as if the Romans didn’t have any original mythology.

This is a basic explanation of one of the more common confusions. Even after the influence of Greece the Roman Gods still had several unique things about them.
Another example would be Herakles and Hercules, though obviously Herakles was a Greek god alone, when adapted into Roman religion quite a bit of his back story was changed making him less and less like his Greek version.
