play him offline and test ur theory
ok
I’ve tried USB over clocking and turning off aero since I first dabbled in ggpo way back when and it still felt like I was underwater. Is there something else that I was supposed to do to eliminate input lag?
edit: swapped out the mobo to fit a new video card and had to switch to ddr3 ram in the process.
That gfx card kinda sucks
350w power supply for a quad core? Wtf?
yeah the problem with input lag is that if it isn’t batshit insane lag you can adjust and eventually it feels like it’s all okay. for me personally I can adjust to MAME’s inputs after a couple games. and people say that MAME is pretty laggy comparatively.
I’m curious enough about this that I may run some tests later this week. Nothing too fancy and nothing super scientific. I’ll just run OE and FBA side by side and hit buttons at the same time, record the footage and count the frames. I won’t get results good enough that I’d expect anyone to accept them as the gospel truth but I can at least get an idea. I’m running OE on a CRT and FBA in an LCD at the moment though. the LCD is listed in that SRK low lag monitors thread as having like ~1ms of lag or something ridiculous like that but it’ll probably be worthwhile to get them connected to the same screen to be sure everything is even.
Don’t talk shit about Joe’s Pizzeria.
You know nothing about Joe’s bro.
I bought a much better card a few months ago (gtx4something I can’t remember) oh and a new power supply 750w.
offline, u can play 3s on mame/fba/whatever on a pretty shitty pc. i can play it on my old intel atom 1ghz netbook just fine. of course, online, your pc needs to be a lot better, like core2duo 2ghz or something. yours is more than adequate for either case.
anyway, if it feels like you’re playing underwater, i would check your usb overclocking settings… make sure it’s set to 1khz. i don’t know how to do this on vista/w7, though.
quick sanity check would be to try playing with your pc keyboard (i guess usb keyboard plugged directly to box would be ideal) to make sure it’s responsive. then try your stick.
Some guy I know linked me this in GGPO earlier. I don’t understand how it operates exactly, but it works. I noticed immediatly after installing that my games were smoother. As for other games, steam was pinging servers for almost half of what they normally do. I was getting 30-60 ping vs east coast servers as opposed to 90-140. Pretty bloody impressive if you ask me.

Edit
Wow this thing is insane, I’ve been playing americans who ping 100-150 on ggpo lobby and I’m getting the smoothest games ive ever had. Everyone needs to install this asap man.
yo shoryuken…this fix works ^…i did it…it was like the UK was right next door…u gotta try it…its what we’ve all been looking for…global competetion! it was so good that im confident it will work wonders in addition to the instructions on the initial post…100% certified http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info13581-LeatrixLatencyFix.html
Totally man, felt like I was playing a fellow UK player. It’s amazing.
Good Game Play Online ?!
Peace Out, timeshares - and doods working for the company saying its cool, just DL, GG bro.
But so far looks legit.
I just want to confirm that this patch indeed works. I installed it and tested it against djdjw and Womble. The effects were noticeable, especially with US vs. UK.
However, it will work best if more players have it installed. I suggest everyone take the time to install this as soon as possible.
It’s also interesting to point out that Tartarus is on wireless and yet it was largely playable vs him despite the continent gap and his connection.
To those wondering, this patch is not a virus. Read this for more info: http://www.codelain.com/forum/index.php?topic=14747.0;wap2
Quoted from link:
“My virus scanner reports that Leatrix Latency Fix is malicious. Is it a false positive?
Yes, it’s a false positive. Leatrix Latency Fix is not malicious. However, certain virus scanners (usually the so-called security suites that try to do everything) may use their heuristics engine to determine that Leatrix Latency Fix is malicious. To understand why this happens, you need to understand how heuristics works.”
and this:
"Leatrix Latency Fix makes your computer acknowledge packets immediately, so subsequent data is sent to your computer in the shortest possible time. Anyone who thinks that this doesn’t produce a genuine reduction in latency has failed to understand this simple process."
I really doubt wireless makes much of a difference anymore. I had some good ass matches with Tebbo today and I’m on wireless. My stick gave me more problems than my the connection did.
Was this on 3s GGPO or 3s OE?
if this weren’t such a small corner of the internet that few people use I would swear someone took over some accounts to advertise this software
sounds fishy how it’s written
maybe I’m being too skeptical
it’s the internet after all
Just try the blood thing jesus.
Nah, I normally can’t play vs wireless players without unbearable lag dude. This was way smoother.
