Working on the combo system.
Tweaking hit detection. We have to use spheres since the characters are rotating constantly.
Cardinals wide attack is a medium strength attack with decent speed, good coverage and safe on block. Use this to check people trying to circle around you.
Cardinals neutral special “Spread Eagle”. This is the DP equivalent. It’s invincible up until the first hit-sphere activates and it’s hella punishable on whiff or block.

A new Super Massive Attack! Cardinal’s moveset is nearly complete.
Oh wow! Different super shadows for wings and body. Looks really cool.
an animation tip- don’t make everything flow too linearly. Play with timing and tempo to add drama, flair, or even added “POW”. For instance, in a lot of KOF style supers, you’ll see a flurry of attacks, punctuated with a slowdown in time for a final, heavy blow. Things like this can add a shit ton.
Yeah that was done in the Spine editor, the final effect will look a bit different in the engine.
This gif comes directly from the animation editor so none of those timing effects are applied. Hit stop and slow-mo is applied in-engine.
Looking good so far! You’ve got some damn dynamic poses.
