Grappler Baki + Martial Arts Manga

There’re 8 or 9 chapters left, and they are being released with speed of 1 chap per week.

My Gawd, if Yujiro wins, i promise i will celebrate his win, with blackjack and hookers or at least with a cake.

If Yujiro wins, I will work out my back like a madman and get surgery to replicate the Ogre Back in real life.

That’s cheatin. Yujiro would frown on your shortcuts.

New dickrider in breaker? sure, lets add another.

I just love how he says this is the time for him to unleash Goomoonryong’s techniques that he learned from the vid, and he immediately reverts to just throwing haymakers like he’s Super Macho Man

im stuck at chapter 285…can someone hook me up where i can continue the series. thanks in advance

http://raw-paradise.tumblr.com/post/25976416031 Okay, Yujiro actually is so cool that Bush himself gives him pocket money instead of father Yuichiro. And he’s the true warrior, actually having kind heart and protecting weak instead of just being an ass who kills poor soldiers, poor animals and other random things as he was shown earlier.

Only one question: WHY THE HELL HE HAS NO HIS OWN SERIES?! He’s the best character as for me, and i think he definetely deserves it not less than Hanayama. The main villian has his own some cool, lively and violent youth (apparently, his life is more interesting than Baki’s one, not cheating things, etc), and we don’t know a single thing about it except shitty Vietnam flashbacks of the last arc of GTB!

What a shame!!!111

The main villain of this series is Baki. Yujiro just killed ONE woman for being too foolish to realized when she’s seriously outclassed.

^ Oh, yeah, i meant it. Exactly my point, that’s indeed. Yujiro is good, Baki is bad - too bad Itagaki thinks the other way D:

Who else is reading Blood and Steel? I like how its turned out! We might just have another Vagabond level manga on our hands…

Yeah, I’m reading it. It’s actually pretty good. City of Darkness is rather weak imo. Everytime I see one of these HK mangas everything looks like they used colored pencils for coloring.

I like City of Darkness. It reminds me of Dragon Tiger Gate. And its way better than Transfer Student Storm Bringer

Because then it’d actually be good.

And also, who would be his antagonist? Yuujirou steamrolls everybody lol. Though I’d like to see one true fight where he truly has to dig into everything and overcome someone(even with Kaku Kaioh he was tanking at the end), and I want it to be CONVINCING, not this jobbing to Baki bullshit.

Though Baki stupidity aside I’ll always have a soft spot for Itagaki due to him drawing realistic black people.

edit: Just want to say it’s hilarious how Yuujirou has more character development in one chapter than Baki does in an entire series.

Man that last panel of Yujiro is fucking awesome. I wish Itagaki’s art always looked cool like that. Half the time it looks weird, but every issue has 2 or 3 panels that looks fucking awesome. totally ripped dudes ax kicking peoples faces in half or punching people in the gut at the speed of light, or just posing like fucking awesome dudes.

It’s one of the big things that keeps me reading.

How about Yuichiro? Pickle was very scared by him. Which proves he is easily Pickle-level of strenght. Probably he is as physically strong as Yujiro himself or even stronger. Why not to look at Yujiro’s way to beating someone who is actually physically stronger than him? Oliva, Hanayama, Jack are definitely weakier in physical terms. Imo, Pickle is also weakier. Shibukawa beats ppl whose physical abilities go well beyond his own ones, he does it all the time on daily basis. Why not Yujiro? It would show a good fight between 16-year old Ogre and Yuichiro. It would be a great hard fight that will prove that even young Yujiro could beat Pickle-level character in his teens. Not so stupidly easy as Baki did to Pickle, of course. Not in raw strenght, but using techniques, spoiling weak spots. Not unrealistically tanking blows, but dodging and knowing that even 1 of Yuichiro’s attacks would kill him. After all, Yujiro said that Yuichiro doesn’t know a shit in martial arts.

In Bakiverse, i want to look at 3 things:

  1. Jack spin-off in which he gets demon back and owns Pickle, he truly deserved to have more power with his death mindset and unbreakable mental wish for strength. I prefer him to Baki, to be honest.

  2. Yujiro spin-off - already explained

  3. Yujiro owning Baki in the most badass way ever possible; sth like that thing when he almost broke Baki’s hand by 2 fingers.

Pickle level strength doesn’t mean anything because Pickle was infinite strong until he fought Baki.
He can’t use techniques because techniques are what the weak created to fight the strong.

So Yujiro has always been the good guy? I saw in those pictures it look like he was protecting the civilians or was that Yuichiro?

Actually, it’s written he wanted to put everything he has, all his energy into fighting, devoted everything to be the best, and
while he was fighting, he protected very many weak people, and then they started to praise him as the God.

He used techniques to own soldiers iirc. He used it to counter Pickle’s trick. He used it to show Kaku that the hardest movements to master can be achieved by him on the fly. And yeah, he slapped Baki like a bitch, admitting that this technique was for weak, but it’s the most suitable thing not to accidentally kill Baki and just show this crybaby who Yujiro is. Yujiro actually likes martial arts to the point where he advices Baki to use them.

I don’t know if he could beat Pickle or Yuichiro in strenght in Vietnam-era, but i put my money he could own them with techniques. Perhaps in strenght too: do you know how motherfuckin powerful his kick must be to be even considered by such a big oaf as Oliva who tanked Baki’s attacks? Oliva blocked it. Kinda says for me. And i didn’t see Yuichiro fighting Yujiro - no doubt it was very epic, but unfortunately you know the good-for-nothing hero this manga is about: just look at the title.

I would rename the series into “Indestructable Yujiro and his pathetic midget son” and make Yujiro putting Baki in his place every time Baki tries to take on Ogre.

He doesn’t use techniques. He can use them, but he doesn’t. He flipped over or whatever when Pickle was doing his thing, but that is like calling the reversal spin kick when he was fighting Baki a technique. He beat Kaku by punching him so hard that he was bouncing off the walls so the whatever-it-was-called technique didn’t work. He respects martial arts but he won’t use them seriously against anyone because martial arts are what the weak use to fight the strong-- and he is the strongest in the world so he would never have need of them.

Vietnam era Yujirou seemed to be like current Baki and more about speed. Now-a-days he just tanks.

Yes, he prefers strenght, and he would own Pickle with just strenght, but these movements made in Vietnam against soldiers… there actually were martial arts: he cut nerves from several soldiers as Kosho + i remember he had neck-breaking grappling throws. Also, he used’em on Doppo: he wanted to end the fight fast, so he used that Udonde thing to counter Doppo’s attack and elbow-striked him to throat, but Doppo stood up and Yujiro decided to continue with strenght when he got sick and tired of using technique when decided Doppo is worthy enough. I think he likes to use techniques if he thinks his opponent is weak and doesn’t deserve to see real Ogre’s power. I mean Yanagi was weak, Yujiro wasn’t interested in long fighting because he knew Yanagi wouldn’t last long enough and give him any really interesting fight Yujiro would enjoy. So he just slapped him to death. He’s the strongest, but i still consider him not only as the strongest (who can beat Pickle physically), but also the best martial artist (who knows martial arts even better than Kaku). No wonder he announced himself as martial artist at Raitai who fights in “any style you please” in his own words. I think he meant by this that they can announce him as any style master (e.g. aikidoka), and he would be owning fighters (Ryu, Kaku) with that style. However, they didn’t do it, they wanted to see strenght demonstration with kawars, Yujiro thought “nah, they don’t care about martial arts, they want strenght, okay, i’ll be using strenght”. Ask me, he owned many dudes in their own “credo” (including both martial arts and physical abilities) just to show he can do it so good (a bunch of fighters in Korakuen owned in their own styles + owning Jack with bitings + owning Oliva with strenght + countering counters (i mean Baki’s spin kick against Yujiro’s spin kick) + mastering 0.5s attack to catch off Baki’s guard + using Mach attacks just to show Katsumi isn’t only gue can do it… hahaha, remember Garland interrupting Yujiro in Korakuen? I bet he would throw Garland to ceiling with Greco-Roman wrestling he can). As for me, Yujiro just wants to be perfect everywhere he can in all terms related to fighting - all martial arts, muscular strenght, durability, agility, stamina, speed, knowledge (he knows medicine better than Doctor Kureha + fluently speaks over 20 languages to get in touch with secrets of martial arts from all over the world). And while it’s true he prefers strenght, he still wants to be No 1 anywhere, including martial arts - because he’s egoistic troll that likes to troll ppl with their own movements. He refuses to use techniques in fight, but he doesn’t mind to master them, anyway. Kaku: “i got rid of my muscules to make my kunf fu better”, Oliva: “techniques are tricks, real mean use strenght”. Yujiro: “i’m the megaman who overpowers Oliva and makes the greatest chinese master feel shame because i have better skills”. I always liked Yujiro for that. You can’t argue it makes him awesome, can you?

As for powerscale, i think that power-ranking is:

1 - current Yujiro (perhaps current Baki)
2 - current Baki (perhaps current Yujiro)
3 - Vietnam-era Yujiro
4 - Pickle and Yuichiro

and then go all others in random order. Vietnam-era Yujiro vs Kaku would be even greater, but Yuji still stomps, lol.
