Its by the guy that currently does I am a hero (which is also good), and before that he did Ressentiment. His series are usually about a normal guy that is a loser (like, legit loser, not movie - loser) that has some event happen that makes them change their life.
Good so far, but he hasn’t done anything but work at his job and go out with a girl-- though with the latest chapters he seems to have some resolve towards something and is apparently about to get stomped. Very real-feeling series with a flawed and human lead, but he uses that in all of his stories.
RRR- Holy Fuck! Each chapter makes me crave more and more!
Breaker- I really don’t see where this one is going, how is this fool gonna get strong enough to fight his teacher once he finds out that he is heading SUC. I really really hope he kill someone over his mom, just so he can get that taste for blood.
Woah thought there was 108 chaps not 106, but still wrapped up pretty nicely. The entire ten volumes of RRR have been more exciting and entertaining than the past 400 chapters of Ippo :X
Gonna do some responses now that people have had time to read last week’s round up
Breaker:
Gonna get pretty interesting, now that several subplots have wrapped up rather nicely now is the time for Shioon to really take off. It’s very likely that Shioon does end up killing someone or close to it, as he’s nearly killed Chang-Ho twice, and would have had he not been stopped by other people. He definitely has it in him, and his expression with regards to the SUC shouldn’t be taken lightly. That famous hobo doctor is still working on a solution for the ki center remember, and with the Sun Wu clan’s resources and tech I’m pretty sure we’ll see Shioon back to martial arts in short order. But seriously though if that happens wtf is the SUC gonna do? They’ve got nothing :X. Only real competition I could see for Shioon at that point (unless the SUC are used as a sort of means of experiencing-up) is Hyuk So-Chun and the rest of Chundomoon. Highly highly doubt he levels up enough to take on GMR.
SoO: Now this may get interesting again too, since Baki’s ogre brain has activated. The part of Yuujirou flicking him over the cliff was pretty cool though sortof cliche(goes back to an ancient legend about Chinese Lions throwing their young over a cliff, and raising the ones who are strong enough to climb back up.)
So that little stunt explains some of Baki’s numerous scars. It also possibly hints at some of the boosts the Ogre brain gives him, as when Yuujirou did the cliff stunt Baki couldn’t see any of the rocks and cut himself as he fell down the side of the cliff. Here Baki can not only “see” the car, he can react in a split second and smash the car as he’s swung into it, stopping himself from taking damage. And Yuujirou’s throwing him at a damn fast speed so Baki is reacting even faster(probably in that whole .05-1 second range that gets brought up at times or even faster due to the Ogre brain). Don’t hold me to that though until we get a translation.
Even if Baki’s Orge brain activates, it shouldn’t matter. Yujiro has it on lock. It would be like Ryu embracing the SNH and being able to take down Akuma who mastered the SNH. Aka nonsense if it happens. Besides, Yujiro doesn’t even come off as if he’s even trying. Hell has he even been shown fighting to his fullest capabilities?
The one trump card being if Yuujirou doesn’t have the ogre brain power. Remember Yuichirou predicted Baki would win this fight, take it for what you will.
He’s fought most seriously against Kaku Kaioh and Orochi Doppo.(him and Doppo’s fight was much closer in the original manga than it was in the anime. Kaku Kaioh/Doppo/and now Baki are the only ones I can recall ever making Ogre bleed. Kaku Kaioh is the only one so far shown to be able to trade blow for blow against Oni Mode Yuujirou)
Well, they both pussed out on the blow for blow bit, since Yujiro backstepped that one punch from Kaku Kaioh (that was later shown to do massive damage to the concrete wall).
