Man the last time I heard of Baki was when the short movie came on Starz a few years back, shit was awesomeā¦ so I guess nows a good time to start, I can read it along with Hajime no Ippo :tup:
^hehehe, thatās how I first heard about Baki, it wasnāt until years later that I stumbled upon the manga and got back into it from there.
Also if you like Baki, start reading Garouden too, itās good stuff, the storyās by Baku Yumemakura(he wrote the original novels the mangaās based off of), and Itagakiās doing the art. Thereās also a Garouden movie out there but I havenāt even been able to find it for sale, much less a a rip.

Therās a lot more out there though, I think onemanga only has up to vol 7 or so, though the WFP is up to vol 21.

i liked how the first season of the show was crazy dark and oedipal and shit and ends on a really somber, gut-wrenching note.
then the second season starts and he might as well be some random high school boy who just happens to be one of the most dangerous fighters ever. WTF is that bullshit.
And he only kills whats attacking him. Unless that piss was acidic

I think the sudden power up feeling youāre getting is from how they shifted around and cut things out of the anime. In the manga, he starts off as the champion, heās not unbeatable, and actually struggles in each fight, then the child saga kicks in, then we go back to the maximum tournament.
Also, donāt forget that inbetween the child and champion arcs, he went over to Brazil, and learned BJJ and Vale Tudo style moves.
EDIT: Thanks Ken, forgot about that, yeah, Kenmochi just happened to be in the wrong place, yet at the right time for pickle, other than a crushed pee pee and some bruises he should be ok though.

Which reminds me, one thing Itagaki HAS to do before this manga ends is show who the hell fathered Yuujirou, we learned in Advent of the Ogre about his mother(whoās still alive, I wonder if Jack ever met her, as I doubt Baki even knows she exists) and the midwife who delivered him, but no idea about who the hell fathered him in the first place, had to be one monster of a dude.
