Final Mission Help

So I go to the old casino, kill all the enemies, work my way up to the roof, watch the helicopter take off, get dropped into the water, and then get into the boat. My problem is that I cannot catch up to Little Jacob in the boat! LJ hovers above the water for maybe 3 seconds before flying away, and then the game tells me that Dimitri got away, mission failed.
The heli usually has a pretty good head start on me as it takes Nico time to get in the boat and start it up. Even if I do pull up close, the heli pulls away, then LJ flies out in front, and I just can’t catch up to him in time. What’s going on here? What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to get super speed out of the boat that I don’t know about?[/details]
I Haven’t beaten the game yet too and I got it since day one. I have one question though, what do you guys do to increase your income beside doing the missions…I’m near the end (well… I think so) and I only have 500k.
I Just want more money even though i know it’s useless…I think I read somewhere in this tread someone has over 1.5 million $ (I think Koop). How’d you do it ?
Jacking Securicars and running them into gas stations (or just putting an RPG through the side but the gas station method doesn’t give you a wanted star, blowing it up gives you two) is a good way to get money, but not THAT much.
How DID you get 1.3 mill…whoever got it?
Final Mission Help
[details=Spoiler] its just a case of grabbing the chopper, falling off into the water and swimming directly to the boat and jumping on the side, climbing in and mashing on yellow button to get him to sit the fuck down and start up the boat. Then just floor it staying as close to the shoreline as you can. Near the shore you have to watch out for wooden stumps and shit sticking out the water but stick close as its the shortest distance to the pick up point. It’s retarded, and completely dependant on whether niko gets up in the boat or decides to just hang on the side like a limp dick or whether he decides if he wants to actually start the boat when you press Y, or whether he wants to stare at the ocean.
Yeah that mission pissed me off, lol. Don’t get me started on the alternate version where you have to ride a bike. I must have had to replay it about ten times. Crashing into random people on the beach, hitting a plank on the ramp and going over the handle bars, it took me about 7 gos to even find the ramp, i kept riding through the barricaded road where people shoot you up. I still havent beat it either. The fucking cheapness of the last mission has just killed my enthusiasm. I tried and tried for hours doing the same goddamn shit and still can’t finish it. I put it back in the case after probably the 40th try or so, and havent touched it since.

I can do everything up to the helicopter part perfectly. I’ve done it so much I can get to that point without losing any health at all. When it finally comes down to the part where I gotta blow up the boat, either I get rocketed, or I crash in the water. Fucking GAY. Why can’t Jacob just fly the goddamn chopper while Niko shoots from the door, instead of handing everything over to Niko? Gotta say that’s a quick pilot switch considering the circumstances.
Hitting the boat is scripted, i was firing all over the place and i’m pretty sure i didn’t hit jack shit, once you get close to the statue of liberty you’ll get a cinematic cutscene. Just fly high up over the boat so that any rockets will miss since they don’t lead the target(you). The boat will head for the statue. If you fly low you’ll probably get shot down.

I’m also at the last mission and it pisses me off…never been mad at a game like that since a while now.
On another note do you lose ALL of your weapons when you get busted by the cops ???..I think someone was messing around with my game when I wasn’t around and I lost all of my weapon so I had to re-buy all of them with a shitload of ammos. It sucks cause…I’m on the last mission.

Finally beat the final deal mission. The boat…apparently, I’d been tilting the bow down, which maybe slows the boat down? Once I eased up off the stick catching up to LJ wasn’t that difficult (though still not easy). I got pissed once though, I’d just gotten in the boat, and JUST as the engines were kicking in I got hit by a perfectly-aimed blast from the RPG. What the fuck? There was nothing I could have done about that. I didn’t have any problems flying the helicopter, I just went high which allowed me to go over most buildings and kept me out of possible RPG range.
I went back and did revenge, and again I still need to beat the final mission. :mad: My first time through I actually got to the helicopter but ended up crashing it into the water. The next times I ended up crashing the bike on some random bullshit.
I figured out that, instead of fighting my way up to the casino, you can just turn around and climb up on the roof from the back. Take out the enemies inside from the holes in the roof, then drop down, and go see the cutscene. Saves time, but still.[/details]

I don’t think the final mission is THAT hard - there are just a lot of little random things that can go wrong and cause you to fuck up the whole thing.
Also, does Carmen’s health boost assist actually work? I’ve tried it several times but I’ve never seen my life bar actually get filled.
