no I don’t believe not using phx on your team means you’re handicapping yourself. no I don’t believe phoenix is the end-all answer to your “not winning any tournaments” problem. she just forces you to play differently, and chances are, you will get randomed out if you don’t kill her before she turns dark. no patch for that yet? tough. if you really do like MvC3 and wanna keep competing, you’ll find a way to beat her.
I just think you need to build 2 or 3 meters before snapping her in. I think if you did that it wouldn’t be such a handicap once you do snap her in. Not every character can build up 2 or 3 meters quickly. But Taskmaster, Wesker, and Magneto seem to be able to. Wolverine, in all his glory, doesn’t build meter well.

Wolverine’s BnB + Fatal Claw is 630k. Wesker’s perfect dance setup is 630k. Same thing. Only difference is, Wesker’s perfect dance setup is rarely used and don’t get a lot of exposure.
