Graduating and Applying for Jobs

Okay so I’m officially graduating college in May (finally!) with a BA in communication studies. I want to try to get a sort of head start on applying for jobs.

So question is… Can I apply for jobs indicating that I’m getting my degree as of May 15 (or whatever date) and that I would be available to work as of sayyyyy June 1st, even though I don’t have my degree as of this moment? Or should I just wait until I actually get it?

I just want to try to apply for stuff now and look around.

Thanks.

na just start applying now. thats pretty common.

I figured… Thanks.

If anyone has extra info that might help please feel free to add.

You probably should of have started applying since the fall. And it’s not like you are guaranteed to get a job when you want one. In worst case scenario, you will be jobless months after graduation. You can never apply to too many jobs.

I wasn’t 100% sure if I was graduating in May. That’s why I never applied for anything. Thanks though.

Apply now. Try not to get discouraged. Make applying for jobs part of your daily routine, seriously.

A piece of advice that I got from my dad was to treat job hunting as a full-time job. Also, as Skywalkin said, don’t get discouraged; you’ll likely apply to a LOT of places before even getting a callback, especially in communications.
