Nothing specific to anti-air’ing? i.e., you can take advantage of the kongo’s startup time to connect an anti-air Ultra I that would normally whiff?

High kongo, FADC ultra 1 . Ive been doing this for the longest time and havnt seen anyone else doing it.

Yeah, that’s a practical option. Or AA tatsu > FADC > Ultra if they do a wide open jumpin.

When I mentioned AA Kongo --Armored Canceled–> Ultra I, the scenario I had in mind was in midscreen fireball wars where you can recover in time to AA kongo, but not AA tatsu, or raw AA Ultra I, for example.

couple of those i’ve seen but they’re all still really good haha
i love the match vs adon round 1 finish with all the chip - sooooooo good.

After watching some of those Bullcat videos I really wish to know how he inputs the tatsu command that good, he seems to move from block to ex tatsu on reaction and never whiffs the kongo

To avoid Kongo, its better to start at downfoward and slide to back, as if you were doing half circle backward motion.

What happened at 1:16? Vega does wall dive and flies at Gouken, and it looks like Gouken does a backdash to avoid it (he definitely moves backward), but then it looks like he cancels the backdash straight into backthrow?? It seemed like there was no recovery at all on the backdash (if it was a backdash to begin with, I dunno)

Looking at the inputs it seems like he is trying to do something with lk. Of course it could just be the replay screwing up the inputs its reading.

nah, vegas attack whiffed & their boxes colliding makes it look like he was moving backwards

He did a crouch tech OS with cr.LK to make his hitbox small so the attack missed and because of the tech OS and Vega wasn’t doing an attack he got throw. Quite possibly one of the smartest moves I’ve ever seen and I didn’t even notice it until you pointed it out.

i don’t know why he was doing throw in that situation, i think it was just out of reflex to jumpins…the reason you see the lk by itself is cause of the SF engine mechanics, he clearly was only thinking & doing throw

Oh you’re right, I don’t know why but I saw down back LK. My mistake. In that case why did he not get hit? I wouldn’t think back throw has strike invulnerability, so that doesn’t make any sense.

Scratch that, he did it too high. Man, I am seeing things today.
