Good time to get a Madcatz Fightstick before price spike? (UK)

Hi everyone.

I have recently found out that Madcatz have gone bankrupt and whatever stock of their sticks are left is all there is.

I need a new stick and I am looking for options. The Madcatz sticks are currently on offer:

Madcatz TES+ (£89.99 NEW)
Madcatz TE2+ (£129.99 NEW)

Plus with Madcatz gone this might be the last good deal on this stick before they become sold out and the price skyrockets.

I know these sticks are very popular here and wanted to hear from people that have had them for a while and put them through a beating.

Is the quality control on the TE2+ a big improvement over the original TE2? I heard that all of the problems with the TE2 were fixed with the TE2+ (creaking panel and flex in the artwork near the buttons). Is this true? the ease of modding the ease of modding at a later date would be very useful and personally worth it over the TES+

by good time I meant before prices shoot up, but I get your point.

I looked at the hori rap 5, but because of this sale the madcatz sticks are much cheaper.

The whole TE2 lineup have design flaws.
TES+ might be fine, but I would NOT spend the money resellers are asking for it over here in the US market. If by some miracle you got some real clearance prices for a TES/ TES+ then maybe.

Why buy a Madcatz when you can build one just as good yourself?

the TE2+ retails for roughly £200 and it’s down to £130. It’s tempting but after your recommendation for the hori I rechecked amazon and the hori rap 4 kai is down to under £90

With the hayabusa joystick and buttons with easy modding down the line it looks like a better choice at least on cost.

Hahaha that’s amazing. I made a stick out of wood years back that reminds me of it.

I had no glue so had to use the only thing I had which was six inch nails to hold it together.

It was adorably bad but I loved it.

That thing is probably someone’s pride and joy :slight_smile:
