Had Akuma as anchor, but Dante could build so much meter for Dark Vergil to come in with some meaty options available. Seriously, this team has everything you need. Trish/Dante have great TAC synergy, both can cover Rapid Slash as well fill the screen with hitboxes just everywhere. Low Voltage over Peekaboo because I just like the projectile mixups, but I’ve seen a lot of people run Peekaboo. Shrug.
Just testing a few things because I’m not solid on this yet because I’m still Marvel soul searching.
My current team is DMC (Trish, Dante, Vergil), but I’m look to change that to something different since I’m not really a Dante fan overall. Been messing around with Zero, Vergil, Trish, but that’s mainly because of Zero being what he is.
How do people feel about Trish, Felicia, Vergil? I want to keep Trish in a prime position since she’s my favorite character in the game, I’ve been interested in Felicia since I played her a little in DS, and Vergil was always my favorite twin. I’m also open to other suggestions too but I’m kind of want to stick with Vergil.
And I know Doom and Wesker are good partners for her (played them both in Vanilla with her) but I’m just not feeling them anymore. I know Viper is a good fit as well but I don’t feel comfortable playing her w/o being able to Seismo cancel consistently.
Been thinking of changing my PW team, to Hsien-ko (Pendulum)/Phoenix Wright (Dog)/Trish (Low Voltage or Peekaboo)
My strategy with Hsien-ko and Wright is the same: Hsien uses golden armor and tags to Wright, armored pendulum combined with Maya’s shield and either Trish’s Low Voltage or Peekaboo keeps them off. Or, Hsien-ko can use her Chiretou blade hyper and DHC into Maya Smelting, and Chiretou lingers on the screen and carries them away for a good amount of time, giving Wright time to gather evidence. But if Hsien-ko goes down, I have a back-up: Trish can come in and use her Round Harvest, and immediately switch to Wright, who get’s to gather plenty of evidence between the Round Harvest and a Maya shield + Trish assist. If both Lei-Lei and Wright go down, Trish makes a solid anchor.
But I’m not certain about Trish’s assist. Peekaboo is very good to keep people off of Wright, but both of my other characters have awful mobility and have a hard time opening people up, so I wanted to use Low Voltage to help with that.
Hey I run Trish(Peekaboo), Task(Vertical/Horizontal Arrows), and Akuma(Tatsu) right now. I usually lay traps and shoot voltages along with Task arrows to annoy the opponent and use tatsu as a gtfo assist if they get in.
Do you guys think it is a better idea to run Task on point so that I can do Task bnb into Round Harvest -> raw tag Task back -> unblockable (do people usually use L, M , or H version of unblockable btw?)? Haven’t actually tried this out but I heard the opponent can raw tag out of this… Any help on how this works and if this setup is better?
My current team right now is Trish/Morrigan/Dante using Trish as a simple battery character with some Jam session insta-overhead resets. After I build a certain amount meter or depending on the next character. I usually round harvest into Morrigan and Soul fist. Using Jam session as a anti Air when they decide they wanna Hyper Jump @ Me.
Also team DMC because that team just works stupidly well together.
You run trish as a battery? How so? She doesn’t seem to have any of the qualities of a good battery(high damage without meter, high health, good resets), but id like to know how you make it work since Im trying to do something similar with my Trish/Sentinel/Hawkeye team. Sent and hawk have more uses for meter than trish imo, but I just can’t do a lot of damage with trish without meter.
Maybe it’s because Im running her unblockables strategy, but I seriously have found lack of meter to be less of an issue w/ this team than any other Ive used (or close to it). I dunno if its a function of trish as battery, or of the team strategy only requiring one meter to kill, and giving Doom an entire corner combo to build meter, but Trish first can be EXCELLENT for meter management.
However, if your gameplan is to try to have round harvest on the screen as much as possible for chipping/zoning, then yeah you prob don’t want her first.
Oh no, I don’t use round harvests at all tbh, thus my statement about trish not requiring a lot of meter. If I can figure out a way to reset people consistently with trish and get a kill with only one bar I think my battery strategy will become more effective because thats prolly one of the reasons why she seems like a good battery to you. Your using one bar to set-up a doom corner combo.
I actually just put a few minutes into this team. If you end your combo int he corner and back dash round trip and call drones at same time it seems like you get an unavoidabe instant overhead setup. which will really help your reset problem.
Also everyone here needs to box jump light to s more. That shit is gdlk. Easily one the best tools she has.
It’s just a really stupid fast way to approach and leads to a full combo. It’s a little tricky to know when to apply it. For the most I try to use when I’m about a 1/3 of the screen away while calling an assist.
The difference between jump light and heavy IMO is jump heavy should be used to put your opponent in block stun from half screen away while calling an assist to try to get a tri dash mixup. Light is pretty much used to force your self in since it’s really hard to punish, even more so with an assist.
And light does whiff on a little more than half the cast crouching but for the most part nobody is sitting there crouching in the neutral game and even if they are there more than likely bot going to be able to punish it. Not saying you should be careless and just throw it whenever but it is a really good tool and should be one of your first options as an approach.
Hey guys, I just wanted to try out Trish because she looks interesting to play as. So far I know I want to use her and Vergil on a team, but I’d like a suitable anchor. Any ideas? I know Hawkeye might work, but I’m not too good with that character and I’m already using Taskmaster on another team so I prefer not to use him again since I use him sooo much anyways on my main team. Thanks!
Wesker would be a good candidate lol. OTG for both Vergil and Trish’s round trip loops/extensions. Spiral swords dhcs after Max Wesker or Air Max Voltage. Doom is another good candidate, you can find a way to insert hidden missiles as an extension to combos and also sets up tele approaches for Verg and tri dash setups for Trish.
I tend to agree. I think you want to either buff your combos (Wesker gun) or enable your rushdown (Tatsu, Drones, Plasma Beam, Vajra, whatever). With Vergil and Trish, both very much appreciate an otg, but they also very much like a lockdown. So the tie breaker may have to be the dark wesker factor. But then again, aint nuthin wrong with an XF3 akuma or oroboros, etc. What Id do is find your favorite lockdown assist, and test the team with that character and with wesker. See which you like better and do better with.
Id recommend hawkeye, doom, magneto or akuma. Trish and vergil get a lotta mileage out of a good horizontal assist and those are some of the best. I definitely don’t think you should stick wesker in there since your vergil is pretty much fighting by himself once trish dies and while drones would be amazing with vergil and trish, your gonna be stuck fighting with an anchor sentinel, never a fun activity. So of all the people I listed, magneto and akuma are probably the best anchors plus their assists are pretty sick.
