Good teams for Trish?

i thought that to but I cant seem to get any combos off vajira. Ive been trying out Viper(Seismo)/Trish(Low Voltage)/Strider(vajira) but I feel like im screwed if Viper dies. I have this order because I use Burst Time and dhc into round harvest and then tag in strider. I use heavy vajira to knockthem down. Then call low voltage and go for a left right teleport mixup

I feel if you’re trying to get in on someone laming you out, you won’t have to worry about comboing off the assist. It allows you to get in so you can start your pressure to open them up. When all that is done and you land a hit, you can use Viper to extend combos after a knockdown.

Though this is assuming you have Trish on point or DHC into Trish when Viper’s still alive.

yea i trying to think how Trish/Strider would work if Viper gets killed

well i wouldn’t like playing like that just because opening them up is almost solely based on trish alone
if you’re going to play lame then i think it’s pretty good because you can kind of keep them on the ground so you don’t have to worry as much about horizontal air to air projectiles
but converting off of vajra imo is damn near impossible if it hits in the air it’s maximum voltage or nothing, if it hits on the ground there’s almost no time to visually hit confirm off of it.
ugh i just realized because you won’t be getting a lot of damage if you do get to combo with her meter management then becomes an issue because i’m assuming you’d want 3 meters for strider 2 at worst? so that just seems like a uphill battle

it’s a point/assist/crutch team right?

So im thinking of playing a Trish/Frank/Morrigan team

Im still kind of awkward with trish what her best way to level frank? and does shopping cart help her much?

[details=Spoiler]

I’m not really sold on Frank yet, I think he’s probably mid tier at best and Trish can definately get more mileage off of different assist characters like Wesker or Viper. Still, Shopping Cart assist works like Tatsu, so that’s a good thing for a rushdown Trish.

Shopping cart helps keep pressure and hide your attacks during rushdown. You get free tri-dash mixups when they’re in blockstun and if you get a hit, it’s a free lvl 3 Frank at minimum if you convert off the hit confirm.

You have a lot of options with Trish/Frank though. After the Round Harvest setup, you get a post mixup option if you take the picture in the air. You’ll get more guaranteed damage if you go for the kneedrop after round harvest ends. (though it’s sometimes hard to get the knee drop after Round Harvest). In the long run, the combo can lead to a dead character if you have enough meter. (and generally with Trish/Frank, If Trish gets a hit and goes for a TAC, you’ll build at least 1 meter off the combo)

Currently I am running a Trish/Wesker/Sent team

Thanks a lot for your answer, i was thinking about this combo but since i just began playing with viper and had to get down with her basic combo first, i wasnt able to try it.
And i also switched to doom(missile), the combo extension for both trish and viper is a must and i like dr doom more than amaterasu anyway.

kinda. Viper is a really good battery. so its more like battery/user/assist. I would switch trish and strider but I dont like viper/strider dhc. Viper/trish dhc is really good. The only thing I really found though with this team is that after burst time dhc into rond harvest. Tag is strider and use heavy vjara for a hard knockdown and then formation B and go for a reset.

no problem. glad you ar eenjoying doom. This was my team in vanilla. I had Viper(Burn Kick)/Trish(Low Voltage)/Dr. Doom(Hidden Missiles) and its a pretty strong team

I run Trish Peekaboo/ Wesker Gun shot/ Sent Drones

Trish- can really decide the pace of the match, able to rush down at the beginning if needed or play run away if the team i am playing against is rush down style. With this i like to at least get 2 bars so that i can catch them with Voltage Super or Round Harvest if she has a lot of red life and DHC into Wesker

Wesker ( starting off with no glasses due to DHC) - this is where i like to call drones the most cause i would call him teleport behind or enough to get Sent off screen that way drones are coming in and i can pick my options. If drones hit i am going to just go into the basic bnb with Wesker, If its hovering over the opponent and they are blocking then i will just walk up command grab to start a combo. OR if your getting hit by Drones but blocking then i would still go for command grab or teleport to the other side to get another mix up

Sent- now if Sentinel does come in the match without a DHC then something i did was wrong, simple as that. Sent should never really be in the match at all unless I DHC to kill off a character or i hard tag him for the unblockable. but other then that he should never be in the match alone sitting with no x-fac. If it comes down to me Sent with level 3 x-fac then i would wait for a hit confirm into a simple cr M , S, M,M,S otg into Super (x-fac relaunch/super if needed). on the incoming character i would call drones. now if I time it right, i am calling Sent drones like a second before the next character to come in. With this situation, the opponent has nothing to do but super or fall down and block. Now if they super, simple i block and play it normally like i would above. If they fall and block the drones, right before drones put them into block stun i would walk up command grab to finish the round

IF at any point all I have is Sent in and the other opponent has 3 characters then i immediately know something went wrong with Trish because she is the person that is supposed to set the pace for the match.

For my team its Battery/User/Assist

now i am never really calling out Wesker unless its mid combo to otg or he is called out to create the unblockable.
So if somehow Trish and Sentinel are caught and killed (hoping they use x-fac to kill both)
That leaves me Wesker with x-fac level 3 with a lot of meter. which still allows me to win the match with a %70 chance ( yes thats how good Wesker is)

Any Questions about my team? anything set up you don’t understand? anything else i have not discovered with my team? let me know please : )

Trying out my New team Trish/Storm/Dante, SOOOOOO retarded lol

Trish with Doom Missiles and Akuma Tatsu. Now my 2nd main team. Both assists support Trish’s zoning and rushdown game immensely. Doctor Doom with a lockdown assist is scarier than anchor Doom. And Akuma in XF3? Nuff said.

Been tryIng To run the dmc team. I like having trish voltage assist for both Dante and Vergil but if they get wrecked early I can’t make any comebacks even with xf3. Anyone run this team with different anchor?

For team DMC, I feel that team really relies onwhat characters you play against. It’s a team that generally works whatever order you give it but to fully maximize it, you need Vergil on point at the very least. He plays great as an anchor but he has no real safe way in without Devil Trigger. With him on point he’s already got a team helping him out for mixups and easy hit confirms. Then you’ll be able to get resets and more guaranteed damage. What I generally do when I plat Vergil/Trish is have Vergil stay in to kill a character, Devil Trigger, raw tag into whoever you want in. That way when he does come in, he’s already DTed up and won’t have to fall into a left/right mixup free every time in. At least at that point if he dies on point, you still have good synergy with Dante/Trish regardless of what assist they have.

Secondary is probably the most flexible spot for anyone on this team because all 3 play the secondary spot great for different reasons. (all for the safe DHC in, Dante/Trish escape incoming mixup with double jump/air dash.) Personally i’d put Dante second because anchor Dante isn’t that much of a threat alone and is going to have to struggle opening someone up alone. His best guaranteed damage is all chip if you even get the opponent to block. It’s good chip but it’s hard to pin down the better anchors to take the chip. Though if Dante comes in with the life lead and time needs to be wasted, he excels greatly now that in DT he gets triple jump and 2 air dashes. But more on that later. Dante in the second slot…

At this point Dante with some meter and at least 1 assist is good. He can still get mixups and damage. You just need to be able to open them up. Most of the Dante tech is kinda already known so I don’t think I need to go in on what to do and all. If Vergil is still alive, i’d go with rapid slash assist. For Trish, alternate between low voltage and peekaboo.

Anchor slot is probably the spot that’s hard to place because all 3 aren’t that solid when it comes to talking about anchors. Though Trish can play anchor, you’ll need to be able to do whatever needs to be done (be it laming out the rest of the time or actually going in to take back the lead.) I personally say Trish has always been a viable anchor for what she does (and you’re playing smart.) but it’s not the ideal way to go. She can deal with most of the better anchors and if you’re already winning, it won’t be hard to play lame and outrun until time is out. Now that air max voltage OTGs, she can at least hold her own without a OTG assist.

just a simple thought of mine. I can go much deeper but i’m really tired and the team itself speaks of its flexibility of order/assists/etc.

MarlinPie just mentioned over on the OptionSelect stream that he thinks a team of Trish/Viper/Ammy is completely broke. I couldn’t agree more.

oh really? So ironic cause that was once my team…until i met this dude named Dante back on vanilla.

Trish/Wesker/Ryu- Control the engagement. Shift order to Wesker lead for fights you feel he can get in on, and Trish to manuever through/ influence keep away games. And either Ryu LVL3 X factor or Wesker lvl4 both with meter are excellent choices for anchor. ,

I’m also an advocate of Trish/Storm/Morrigan build meter and you can switch up between pressure and laming it out. without sacrificing much of the lame game. I just wish the team had more health.

Can sombody tell me some of the things Trish+Jam Session can do plus how good Trish is as an anchor?

You can use it as a wall to stop pressure from making it to you so you can setup your stuff. For the best example out there, go watch some of Ice’s recent videos in the video thread. Depending on what’s going on you can:
a) use the time to setup traps and get to a nice spot in the air or

b) use the time it buys to throw out a Round Trip and then start pressure of your own. And then that Round Trip lets you call your other assist safely since it’s usually forcing them to avoid it or block.
It can also be used to hold someone in place briefly to do a mix-up (though they get punted away at the end of it). And it can also be used for Combo Extensions, and more.

Last thing is to be careful of teleporters since they don’t have to respect traps/assists between you and them. Against them, instead of hiding behind the Jam Session, you may want to jump up+forward to be inside of it. That would prevent something like Vajra assist from hitting you out of whatever you do next.
