Oh man I feel like you took that the wrong way. My bad. I wasn’t blaming you at all. It’s just frustrating as I don’t know why. We all play the same games. Most of Dream’s group go to your events and help their turnout if games we play are there. Before KoF and SCV this mostly wasn’t the case as none of them played AE. However now that there is game crossover there isn’t any reason they shouldn’t come out. Hearing you tell us you DO actually notify them of Dream’s events (not insinuating you wouldn’t on purpose here or anything) and they still don’t come is even more frustrating.
I work in customer support for a healthcare company. In provider (provider = doctor) credentialing specifically. Basically we handle all of the processing that needs to take place in order for a doctor to practice medicine in one of our hospitals. Everything about them - education, training, past employers, insurance information, licensure, etc, must be properly verified before they can work. So, we are dealing with how doctor’s make their living, and I work in customer support…so yeahh you can imagine how crazy it gets. At the end of the day I feel like i’ve just been punched in the stomach for 8 hours. I come home and all I wanna do is play games and chill lol. I need to start working out again, but I’m so drained after work I just wanna vibe out…and usually drink if possible (speaking of which…that gives me an idea about how I’m gonna spend the rest of my evening).

Same here. That’s why i don’t dwell on it anymore. I game when I can, and hit tourneys now sparingly. My job helps because I kinda manage my own time for the day so long as I can get shit done. And if I’m in certain areas working and have made some headway for the day then I’ll stop over dudes houses for games for a bit. Like right now, I’m online because my girl is sleep, the living room is all mines, and this is usually the time I would play or possibly practice something provided that I don’t use a stick for it. But we may move again once this lease is up and then I’ll get an extra bedroom for a much needed man cave. Goddamn it’s crucial to any relationship.
But yea when you don’t have time to play games all day anymore you kinda learn to make better use of whenever you do play. Like, I prefer to spend a hot second learning the basics and bnbs in games. I don’t even do extra modes and shit anymore. Then the meat of the rest of my time for it is in actual matches with guys where the rest is learned. I personally think that’s obviously more beneficial anyway than sitting in a practice mode all day. If you’re in a rotation with guys and have to pass the stick if you lose, you WILL quickly become accustomed to things and be more inclined to hit shit, punish, and adapt on the fly. Kinda like the pressure of being in a line at the arcade.
Just play when you can bro. Don’t even worry about the time that other people may be able to put in shit and think of it as some sort of headstart, or lack thereof, that you’re missing. Just do what you can when you do finally sit down. Fuck that shit. However, if you’re not able to find ANY second to play anything, then damn that kinda sucks.
Dang I only got a 360. And yeh i dont see why you would complain about losing health when she does the damage she does. Especially with her long range poke. That move just keeps people away. Im thinking i might be the only Tira player at the tourney but we’ll see. And shoutouts to sev with that throw shortcut. My Shen just got a lot more Scarier

Yeh ive been work on them. Ive been a training mode monster and then i jump online whenever. Tira can be annoying as crap with her high damage potential. And Yeh I want to do some damage in the KOF tourney too. Ive gotten way more confident in my play since im at least trying to do my HD combos in a real match.
Oh I am not dismissing any characters. Trust that Cervantes caught my eye a LONG time ago as soon as I saw his hairy chest psycho crusher. He’ll be on the “gettin fucked wit list.”

I am an electrical engineer that works in FPGA hardware design. My weekends are usually free is the upside. Our group down here in Huntsville meets every Thursday, and most weeks, that’s the only day I get to play. Since I own my own house and live alone now, I generally host any of our gatherings. I still have cleaning, laundry, house maintenance, bills, etc., that I’m the only one that can take care of it now. “The boys” (as I call them) don’t normally make much of a mess thankfully. I don’t have time to really practice, and my execution mistakes show that. I make time when able, but I usually use that time to help another person breakdown what they are doing wrong / help them come up with a way to beat something. I still go support all the local-ish scenes at tournaments though even if I have no real belief in placing high.
Sorry I couldn’t make it up there this Saturday. Also, FYI, Birmingham “Monthlies” is the 25th of this month. If anyone wants to make the trip down, let me know. I would be OK with housing people on Friday night to split up the drive. About 3 hours from Nashvegas. KOF, UMVC3, AE, SC5 are definitely there.

I am 99% sure I left my backpack at Game Galaxy Saturday. I haven’t noticed until now because I kept thinking it was in tons of other places, and it never crossed my mind that it was at GG. I would really love to get that back tomorrow if you found it, because I really fucking need it. Please tell me you found one. It was a swiss army or whatever that brand is. Black, left it laying in front of the glass video games case near the desk I do believe. It was in a big pile of peoples sticks, bags and jackets and I suck so I left it.
I work a 5-day a week cube job, IT for the university here. I’m also taking 6hrs of grad classes, working towards a masters. I’m also trying to buy a house. I also got jury duty. I’m also in a relationship, a band, have some other hobbies, need to exercise more, etc… ha ha.
Yet the FG remains the hobby I never wanna put on the backburner. I do my best to make -every- Nashville event. But you see why I can’t travel longer very often. And you probably see why I can get obstinant about my FG philosophy: I tend towards games I can enjoy and get better at while I’m playing, not games where I have to dump hours into beating up a training dummy in a very specific way.

Wednesday was my first time playing KoF in weeks. And I haven’t touched it since Wednesday. Shit. I’ll need to get a few straggler matches this week or imma be more ass than usual at tourney.
