I think it might be because of the threads posted on for advertisement of the tourneys…Richard needs to go on Dustloop and 8wayrun.com for those types of tourneys but milln isn’t having a tourney at the end of this month, so not sure why people didn’t come out for SCV…
Astaroth gets 2 entries and cover, Phil gets cover and entry, and Pat gets cover and entry for next week’s Memphis tournament if they choose to go.

Oh, heads up, HUGE tournament here at the end of April…we’re having www.facebook.com/tndolls sponsor us and running around the place. Haven’t talked to milln to see if he is doing a tourney that day as well, but we’re going to have a pretty big tournament the last Saturday in April, so mark your calendars! We will definitely have smaller ones before then, but will probably stick to only 2-3 games and split up the tournaments amongst milln’s crew…
@ Arson: Idk dude. That squad you got 2nd with at Hank tourney was pretty legit right? Then I heard from a certain young source that your Flocka Flame was solid. So yea. Not aimed at you because you were rocking Ash even before console, but I noticed that when people here lose, especially in a tourney, they often pick up and switch to another character as if that’s the answer. God forbid we stick to the one or two characters that we (actually liked) for duration of run until something clicks. I have this weird idea that familiarity while building a foundation could actually benefit more than flip-flopping. Even if the skill level increases, you can’t get fully accustomed to shit. Fuckers aren’t comfortable. And in turn, your Pokemon won’t respect you enough to use clutch attacks.
Also, I welcome Natsus. Bitch gonna get ate up like a tray of finger sandwiches. After the Raiden thing happened and J Ford made me re-evalute my life (while also finding out that Cale was really a sith lord), it just made me give less overall fucks and put targets on these tiers back. For however long that I fully play a game, I just break down those charas common sense wise. Also, The Study of Niggaology states that people who rock the beefs are too consumed, and only concerned with, the amount of power they have to notice some smaller intricate things. Meanwhile, my middle-class working ass is plotting and scheming. Scratching and biting. Until I complete that heist and the loot is mine. So dudes can bring Ninja Cunt and let that dmg swell them up. But ya my biggest KOF problem right now is switching, after the tournament Saturday, and how embarassing it was for me, I’m forcing my self to keep ironing out and playing Clark and Billy, never took off Clark but whatevs. Those two and Beni are my favorite characters in the series so I’m just making do while still playing someone who has a better shot against king then billy. I want to play Benimaru so bad, and I’m going to make my self do it, but he just seems so weird and please someone tell me if I’m just going for too much, but his execution seems stupid hard.

I guess, I mean I tried that team against Pat at this last tournament but I just got ate the fuck up by King. I switched after that and it was probably a mistake, but I see what you’re saying. Either way, I’m not switching out Iori, hell I’m not switching out anyone permanently. I’m learning Ash so I can throw him on point or anchor to deal with King, and a few other characters that I have trouble with. Saiki is really good, but against other zoners, he ain’t the greatest. I’m having a little trouble being a threat with him in general. I’m learning Claw to replace Pyro Iori because I like him more and think he’s better, and I’m still running Kyo even though I’m ass with him. I’ll still play Duo Lon alot… But just not against King. I was like " Yo, Athena is a zoner, and I can fuck her shit up with Duo Lon… Oh, my forward B gets jumped by GROUNDED venom shot. COOL. Guess not. "
It sounds like I’m making a bigger deal about this bitch than is deserved but we have what… Like 5 or more King players in just TN? All good players, too. Plus, I like Ash alot in general, so I want to be able to play him. My best team is still EX iori, Duo and Saiki, but I just don’t think it is the best I could do.
Well yea I can see the King frustrations. Trigger happy bitch. With good normals and easy hit confirmable combos. I feel ya. I havent really gotten that matchup down either. More like you gotta have near flawless spacing and take a chunk every opportunity to force her to do some dumb shit then finish her. Which isnt easy if youre fighting a decent player who’s content on being lame until youre flustered and then murder you. As long as you got reasons and its not something where you feel like, “I’m going to play who X guy is playing in hopes that I will have same success as him.” And even if that’s people’s perogatives (obviously) then that’s cool too.

I’ve been forced to do this for years. I welcomed V-13 against Tager in Blaz. I welcomed Taki and Cass in SC4. I FULLY welcome Dante, Wesker, Magneto, Vergil, Spencer, and Wolverine in UMvC3. And now it looks like I’ll be welcoming Natsu and Pyrrha in SC5. People can tier whore all they want, but when you sit in training and find those sweet little openings and weaknesses, you should be able to come out on top. It might be different in my case though because I use characters that say, “Oh, that mistake just cost you more than 50% life, bitch.”

Also YES - why the FUCK isn’t there more crossover between us and Milln’s MTNG group?! We could be having solid turnouts for ALL of our tournaments instead of a few here for Milln’s and a few here for ours. We have crossover in all games save for AE (none of Milln’s group plays it I think) - so we could have decent locals for Kang, Marvel, and SC.
DiMo I know had financial stuff come up. So I can understand that.
I’m not giving up on my team either. I just want characters in back pockets for different situations. Basically, I’m with Andrew - my only goal in life…is to find a way to destroy King and everything she holds dear and cares about. I want to end her whole CARUUR. I. HATE. THAT. BITCH. I hate that bitch more than you asshats hate Bison in SFIV. My problem is though, that I just get very frustrated very easily. And King is PERFECT to play into that weakness. i feel just completely hopeless against her. My team is fine and I don’t want to change it. I just need to put the work in with it.
I do know this. I have found my “Bison” in Terry. I know a lot of characters have safe Bison-style pressure in KoF, but something about the way Terry’s works makes me feel at home. I just need to tighten up my reactions and hit confirms so I get more damage every time I touch someone. Also I HAVE to MASTER that super cancel into EX Power Geyser - I can do it now, just not consistently from both sides.
But I had a blast yesterday. Scary thing about our locals, especially then there is a low turnout, is that the brackets are going to be STACKED. There were no easy matches for ANYONE yesterday, so while not the best turnout, still a good tournament.
GGs to Cale and Phil - Cale we had the double jeopardy. Always sucks when that happens. You always have me sweating man, even if I am sitting on a life lead.
Phil good shit and I guess we technically had double jeopardy too in winner’s and grand finals. I am very happy with my playing in Grand Finals. We won’t talk about the ending but it was a good set. I wasn’t trying to take anything away from you or your win, which i think I made pretty clear. I just hated it had to be like that. Good shit and I plan to see you again in Grand Finals soon boi.

@Talk of overlap/community crossover/tournament mingling/groups: I’ve talked to them numerous times about it and text them when a tournament shows up. I can’t -make- them come to you guys. I try to show if work doesn’t have a hold of me, but all I can do is encourage them to get off of their couches. It infuriates me much more than it annoys you guys. I apologize.

I’m having a more and more difficult time finding the free hours to play my games and practice with the weighted responsibilities placed on me as a retail manager. I’m betting i’m just being a whiny little snot, but I feel like I have no time to do what I want.

I am a teacher…So what time i am not spending on lesson plans for classes that i am subbing for long term, I am recording a friends band, Playing in a small group right now, playing KOF 2002 AND XIII, SfIV, ST, and most importantly spending time with my wife and son. The little bugger is growing up very fast on me. He is already 2 years old and another year is closing in on me.
