Playing Lightan is tough man. The fact that he has no low attacks and thus no mixup really, really hurts him.

If all people have to do is throw a projectile, Baroque, block high, escape the corner and continue, then this character has been relegated to the “advantageous to those who don’t know the matchup” bin.

If Capcom is serious about Lightan being tournament-viable, then they’ll make his crouching jabs or his crouching fierce a low hit.

Sorry didn’t even see you replied. Agree with all you said.

Also just saw the US SBO qualifier winner was a Lightan player. Amazed the shit out of me. No one could beat a Lightan? Then watched the japan qualifiers and every Lightan got merked, badly.

But yea, once you know to just keep away and projectile spam againist Lightan he’s pretty much free. Kind of sad because i like playing him. Oh well.

Actually he has a lot more combos now. Very dangerous and damaging, Gold Lightan is now.

Although he doesn’t have low hits still, every hit Lightan lands can usually combo into something. Also, Gold Crush hits OTG.

Very nice Lightan video. That tank slice can be buffered to combo into a lvl 1 gold crush. I also find tank slice to be very helpful in causing PTX to be knockdowned.

I’ve been maining Lightan for awhile now (actually since UAS came out; awhile for me). I got a few tips for ya.

Against certain characters Battleship breaker + bbq is good for closing gaps.

Move forward in the beginning of the match. Lightan + a wall = win.

Since he doesn’t flinch, use lots of jabs to stop supers.

That’s all I have for now. I’m working on a combo/techniques vid so look forward to that.
