Sidenote, I thought it was a lot cooler in the trailer when the jets were crashing into the water because I thought the wingspan flapping was fucking up the air pressure. The whole electronic jamming thing was weak, I wish they had a more natural form of destruction.
There’s a pretty clear-cut line between lacking all social proficiency, or on the other hand, having the skills, but not caring at all about societal and conversational convention.
To be fair, Leatherback(the one with the EMP organ) got to use it once, and shortly thereafter(5-10 minutes) got it torn out, and EMPs are no small use of energy;
that is something ANYONE will have to charge up for.
Nobody is generalizing anything. However Mothra may be fun for you, however we’ve already gone through an almost pure flying Kaiju in this first Godzilla movie (Muto basically acted like a Bat with the way it flew and crawled on the ground). Having another one but being even more airborne is redundant and more importantly the general public is going to look at Mothra as being another Muto which is not good in terms of Movie appeal. You put King Ghidorah on that screen and people will be causing riots just to see the movie.
Really? Because Magneto caused quite a stir in X3 didn’t he? Nor his Mutant Genetic manipulation of the world leaders in X1? Even in the comics he manipulated the earths magnetic field requesting for the rebuilding of Asteroid M. I guess he’s not powerful enough to be the main Central Antagonist of the X-Men. Jokers persona is more dangerous because of what he is “Chaos” with no real purpose other then the enjoyment of it, Ras has an order following making him much more predictable. Jokers capabilities is not supposed to always be at an entire global threat. Let me rephrase this to you again, You don’t need to be at a Global/Planet Buster or higher Threat level to be the biggest Heel to the Main Protagonist.
Lastly, you’re diverting the entire point that I was trying to make. Central Antagonist have appeared in the 1st and 2nd movies before with no handicap to a series, that’s a fact.
The Koopa kids analogy is getting old. Ghidorah appearing in the 2nd movie will not devalue the 3rd movie if one is to be made. Look to my other movie series statements as proof.
Ghidorah is a better option over Mothra because he’s big enough to size up with Godzilla, yes, he can fly, however he also has his gravity beams, something in which a Muto couldn’t do & more importantly he can fight head to head with Godzilla on the ground.
Then you’ve completely missed my point. My statement was that Mothra will look too much like a Muto from a general publics perspective who doesn’t know much about Godzilla. Just look to LOTR Return of the King when they had to completely change the Witch Kings helmet because by giving him essentially a bucket helmet with spikes originally and when screened to a small group along with even some Tolkien enthusiast whom helped with the movie they thought that it was Sauron whom had returned to fight the battle at Pelennor Fields. If event they assumed that, what would’ve happened had this been kept in the movie.
Mothra will make it look like a rehash and I guarantee it’ll lead to a more negative feedback if he is to become the Main Antagonist for G-2.
Watch the movie again. The scientist stated that Kaijus existed on Earth at a time when radiation levels were extremely high and that they only went dormant under ground when Radiation levels fell. They didn’t just simply mean those particular Mutos either. That alone is enough to make more Kaiju appearances without having to rehash another 1st half of the movie about “how they are here” once again.
I’m only going to say this once Soviet, keep it about the thread and not a childish direct vendetta against an individual just simply because their opinion is different from yours, Mods these days on Srk are not as tolerant as they once were years ago.
This will be my last post pertaining to this, because for respect of the thread I don’t want it to flood with 10+ more pages of the same rehash, when all that we’re talking about is simply opinion.
Eh…you guys need to start suggesting what kind of human perspective you want in Godzilla movies. All of them have it, shit, half the Godzilla movies aren’t even really about Godzilla (terrible ass polution one ).
it seems most of you dudes want just the fight scene which would be interesting for all of 30 minutes straight. Or you know, if you want the human element to matter you could ask for Mecha-Godzilla.
Cloverfield handled human perspective perfectly, you know 5 guys running around terrified, my gripe with Zilla was that Kickass didnt even look that bothered half the time and the last samurai looked doped outta his fuckin skull all the time. Like he was in a total state of shock the whole movie.
Does a sequel really need a human perspective story outside of “aww man these niggas again, lets break out some big guns and not park up our ships like pearl harbor didnt happen OOORA!”
Make the main character Admiral Stenz or whatever, have him go full ham/General Ross and bring out the Masers, the prototype cyber monsters and all the sci fi shit we would expect to stand a chance against tower block monsters. Fuck the drama, the humans need to be more action oriented. Then have a straight hour of Monsters duking it out.
And please, I know some of you guys are disagreeing with me about this film lol but PLEASE, no more fucking 5 man squads that try to ambush Zilla with small arms fire. Nearly walked out the movie at that point.
I didn’t find Cloverfield particularly believable, group of 20+ year olds not a single one drops an F-Bomb. But as a disaster movie it does tell a personal story quite well. I don’t think thats what Godzilla needed, the focus should have been changed in the final act, that’s what people were paying for (or at least I was).
Was thinking of grabbing that 3 Footer but seems stiff as hell and where the hell would i put that thing? I might snag that 24 inch now before re sellers go all hog wild.
In a crisis situation like that I never swear, I just accept the fact am about to get jobbed, thats a little judgemental TFO, hating on niggas for having manners and all.
What I didnt particularly find believeable was the train convoy with the ICBMs going through the danger zone, when the pacific fleet have all the nukes they ever needed to carry out their plan of blowing them up 20 miles of the coast, but hey at least it gave Mutos what they needed to lay their eggs
It may have but it handled everything else in the worst possible way. We don’t really get to see the monster, everything is in shitty shaky cam and we don’t really get to see the monster. That movie had far more misleading advertisement than Godzilla did.
Like fuck, at least we got the Sneakers commercials, cloverfield didn’t even have that.
