sentinel is just blatantly powerful, and no one really likes that; anyone complaining wants to play their inherently weaker teams, while pointing out the fact that whoever else took the ‘easy’ route.
if the competitive scene discovers that you need sentinel (or any specific picks) on your team, the game is flawed. you can choose to stay or leave, just like mvc2 (which was flawed as fuck, and i’m surprised there was such a scene).
You’re merely proving my point. Take the last recent HYPE match of MvC2 (the moneymatch between Neo and Clockw0rk at WC3) where Clockw0rk used Strider Hyu in his team. Strider Hyu was never considered a NECESSITY in top teams (not to say that he’s not good), but he rocked pretty hard with his Strider, and that was against a Storm, Sent, Mag team btw. Some characters are easier to beat than others, that’s just a fact when you consider health and other attributes. But to say that using a good character, “or any specific picks”, because he is a good character means the game is flawed just seams silly to me. I mean, wouldn’t you want your team to be made up of good characters?
i wasn’t necessarily arguing your point, i was sort of neutral in my post.
while i use the term ‘flawed’, i never said the game wasn’t fun or didn’t play well… but when you have 6 of 56 characters dominating the fuck out of the game, you can’t argue it doesn’t detract from the experience.
i always did enjoy mvc2 (and ssbm), despite this problem.
edit: clockw0rks strider/doom shit always stood out specifically because of what i was talking about; it otherwise shouldn’t have been such a big deal, but rarely did skill allow you to stray far from the top-tier.
sentinel isn’t god tier in this game
almost everyone can take over a match and win, if these noobs are just mashing buttons why are they beating you. you can almost kill sentinel in 2 combos with some of the weakest players in the game, stop playing sloppy.

Sentinel probably won’t even be top tier. Why?
His mix up sucks. The only thing he has that is scary is his grab, and there are other characters that have scary grab mix with much better mix on top if it too. (If you can’t deal with 100% damage in XFactor, play a different game)
His hit box sucks. Instant overheads all day on sentinel, go wild.
And before you tell me “No way, I’ll never get to hit him, he has super armor on his launcher and CrM and they’re too fast in XFactor”, consider the following;
His APPROACH sucks. He loses to zoners, hard. Go wild, Taskmaster, Dormammu, Trish, Storm, etc.
You can snapback anyone, now you’re attacking Sentinel BEFORE he can use level 3, and you even get a pseudo knockdown as he swaps in. Cool.
Okay, now stop losing to sentinel, you scrubs.
Oh, and if you’re sick of people bitching about sentinel and he’s on your team, nominate this shit for article, I run this place.

He’s a good asset to a team definitely.
Any single character in this game with lvl 3 xfactor is incredibly scary and a huge threat. Not just the Big Robot in charge.
A lot of chars can do sent damaging combos or close to it without xfactor, he’s not the only one that can do it 
you’re either a ken, or a sagat, take your pick.

Are people more salty that he was top tier in MvC2 as well, or that he’s just as good if not better than he was in MvC2?
They’re salty because they don’t know how to not mash into super armor and get hit for 100% life, after not snapping him back and killing him early.

The sad thing is, it’s too late. I’ve been playing on xbox live all day and only a handful of non sentinel teams and most of them had only a few games played. so they probably don’t know yet.
Yeah. I’ve always maintained that I play Sent because I like to win. As soon as the nerfs come, I’m jumping ship to a more fun character.
Right now, I’m Tron/Arthur/Sent. Team Metal.
If a player is scrubby and you are good you should be able to always beat them 99% of the time if not 100%
character choice only matters if your enemy is good. and if he is good then u have to respect him and why would you be mad that you lost to a good player, learn some anti-sent tactics.
Sent has been significantly nerfed. he can do stomp patterns even if u combo into launcher you might be at the wrong height to properly do comboes, you can get HSF-chained
Futhermore, it’s not like in MvC2 where sent (and the other god-tiers) dominated the game. In mvc2 less than 10% of the cast was viable, in this game it’s way higher.

All the hate has definitely fueled people to try and even it out, there already some nasty anti-sent vids out there, and I’m seeing his god rank go down, course, I’m not very good, so it doesn’t really affect me anyway, x-factor still sort of makes my matches 50-50 toss ups at the end, regardless of whose left, not complainin’ though, this game rocks.
As long as Hags gets no hate/rage anti pipe vids then I’m happy.
(doomsday) they flame you because this is the culture here. you cant just be a stranger then make a post or this happens. i once filmed myself playing ssf4 put it on youtube then asked for help on here and they told me how bad i am and how awful the person i was playing was. so now i only read messeges rather than talk. btw i do think a tread on ryu, or ryu teams vs sent would be a good idea.

Rather than trying to discuss strategies, countermeasures, or tips against Sentinel, he’s crying about the character.
