When there’s a battle on my desk, it looks more like .
There’s going to be a Fight Night in Doylestown on Friday. Kanchi, if you can get to my house, or near Game Junkie or something, I’ll give you a ride from there. N-E-C! N-E-C!
EDIT:: Good job at OCVing my door.
Can I get a ride too? :[
If you take me on a spa------ day.
EDIT:: Oh I was confused by the Facebook event. The Fight Night is December 27th.

So you guys up to anything tomorrow night?
I fucking love Altered Beast.
We are thinking about getting some practice in at GJ around maybe 3?
Hell yea Altered Beast. I hate the level where your altered form is a bear; that form straight out sucks.
Alright. I think I might try getting out there sometime after work tonight; got a few last min things I want to try out. It’ll be like “old” times again being it’s Friday.
Actually, call me before you head over. I might do the gathering at my house if less than like five people show up.
Game Junkie guy here,
Well today sucked losing about $800 in stuff to that one thief. Total bummer. Really got me pissed about everything.
Gotta change up alot of the way I do inventory and train my employees to watch for the thieves.
But anyway, I will most likely be aquiring the property next store in hopes of adding a gaming area to the store as well as a little more floor real estate for games.
I was looking for input as to what would people would WANT in a gaming area.
I was already informed that a VS Cabinet of some sort would be much appreciated. If somebody could point me in the right direction as to where to acquire one and what would be needed in one to make it worth it, i would be much appreciative. I want to make a place that people WANT to come and play and relax.
My monthly fee’s would likely be $20.00. Not exactly a huge sum, but enough to pay the bills to keep the place open. Should I have gaming chairs, love seat’s, regular sitting chairs, what exactly? How about lighting? LCD’s or CRT’s? Just looking for input as to what would make an ideal place to chill and play games in comfort. A nice social gaming area, which is quite frankly MY dream and I would love to be able to share it with everybody. I’d also like to stop sucking at Street Fighter some time as well, but one thing at a time.
Also would have monthly tournaments once the new property is incorperated, which would be sometime in February. Which is coming quicker than I ever expected.
Anyways, input is appreciated! Let er rip. Do’s and dont’s, etc.
Sucks about what happened last night :[ Real sorry that happened while so many of us were there.
As far as arrangements, this is the monitor of choice: Newegg.com - ASUS VH236H Black 23" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen Full HD 1080P LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 20000 :1 (ASCR) Built-in Speakers
Or any of them with 2ms refresh instead of the 5. They go on sale pretty regularly, so I’ll keep my eyes out for you. Those should be your priority, but the only problem is it only has HDMI input, which locks those of us who still play games on older systems out. I think 2 CRTs and however many of those you think would be optimal for the space (the place is never open, I honestly haven’t seen how big it is).
As far as a Versus cabinet… your best bet is finding someone on the east coast that’s selling one. shipping is going to kill you from any of the sellers online. The Neo-Geo trading forums, or shmups.system11.org • Index page would be the best place to check out for Candy Cabs in my experience.
I also know a guy out at State College who’s selling a CPS3 board with 3s…
http://system16.com/cabinets/versuscity.jpg Get one of these and I will be in your store for all of eternity fighting Gill.
I’m gonna see if my rich, Jewish grandmother will buy that CPSIII board with 3s for my birthday. If she does, I’ll let you use it in a VS cab.
CRT’s and good monitors is a great idea like Tigre said. A vs cabinet with 3S would be amazing and I would love that as well. Just an overall open space with chairs and tv’s is all people really need. I don’t think couches would be necessary and might take up space but that’s just me.
Yea… I don’t think couches would be optimal. They’re large and hard to move around. Chairs would work just great
I would stand on poisoned, flaming nails to play 3s.
Only if it was playing on a cabinet though, not stick.
Correct. Ps2 ain’t no good!
I cantry to find chairs for cheap prices. stay tuned on that. as for what games, I think Philly desreves Super AE, considering university Pinball might not get it.
Myself and the other owners of the Versus City cabinet in Doylestown were considering selling our cabinet along with the 3rd Strike board. We have been fortunate enough to have Siren Records in Doylestown host our cabinet temporarily, while unsuccessfully looking for a permanent location in the city. Some updates to the cabinet since we acquired it just over a year ago:
- new speakers on 2p side
- control panel locks and key
- new 2p control panel
- new buttons, joysticks, screws, disconnects, artwork and other small updates I can’t recall at the moment
We also purchased a JPN version A of 3rd Strike with a new battery just over 6 months ago as well as stools customized to the same height as those found in most Tokyo arcades.
The monitors have very little burn in and it is only noticeable when the monitors are off or slightly noticeable if you look hard enough when a character super jumps in one or two stages of 3rd Strike. One side is also missing a coin mech. The cabinet is probably over 10 years old, but it’s been perfect for us to play 3s - give it a nice cleaning and it will be as good as new.
We’re asking $850 for the cab, $450 for the 3rd Strike kit (going for $600+ currently), $50 for both of the stools ($45 a piece at IKEA); or $1300 + shipping for all three.
We don’t want to overstay our welcome at Siren Records and would like to move on and let someone else find a home for the cabinet. Glenside is actually closer than Doylestown for me, so stopping by to help with the cabinet or play would be easier.
Here’s a recent picture.
Will learn 3s for food.:woot:
But seriously, who’s willing to teach young Kenny?
I think we’re all happy to teach people 3s lol
