ha ha oh no im not pointing fingers so far ur posts have been pretty reasonable i guess u understand where i was coming from with my OP. so i dont believe for a second u were one of them ha ha.

i find it kinda weird that on the internets where people are masked in anonimity theres people who even mask their negative rep as well as if there was any need really.

I’ve been playing SF on and off for 18 years, but I find I play IV a tiny bit better if I’ve had a beer or two. No shit. I take more chances (that pay off 90% of the time) and my play is a little looser so I’m not stuck in my usual Dictator routine.

I guess that says more about me and my drinking than how people who are on the brink of giving up should play the game though, haha.

Some strains of herb improve my game while others can have a negative effect. So far, POW and Prophet have been the best, while OG Kush had me so couch locked that I couldn’t do anything. I’d just sit there watching myself get beat on, reacting to everything like 2 seconds later.

Do you guys really lose to delay? I personally don’t have many matches with any sort of delay (if there is a delay it’s minuscule) and can block, perform links, and break throws consistently. Maybe not as consistently as I could offline but online is only like my training ground to understand match ups.

I get so pissed playing online 9 out of 10 it’s a noob who just keeps jumping backwards and i have to chase him. I rarely play some who knows to setup their ultra either one Balrog player did his ultra from across the screen. I feel my game is getting worse play these noobs. Im not the best street fighter player but im trying to learn the game, i would rather lose to a good players than destroying noobs all day.

I rarely play online. Local get togethers in my scene is where its at. Even then the scene down here in new orleans is nothing compaired to the ones in texas or farther up north. I don’t play online for a few reasons though. Players get their feelings hurt quick online. Bisons standing roundhouse is no joke. Yet online I am rediculed for abusing their hail mary jump ins or using double reverse so that they whiff ultras/dp whatever the fuck they want to mash out as quick as possible. Ranking is flawed. It fools you into believing you are better then you are wining tournament money is better then E-points and video uploads. Quality of players are poor. Most players are either pure turtle + button mashin DP or just so stupid they DP regardless of what happens.

The hype is finally dying hoorah! Though it will just get rehyped when marvel and Blaz blue comeout. “OMG SENTINEL IS SO CHEAP” Theads :tdown::nono: Oh I just can’t wait.

man i wish i could do the same in the UK the arcade scene is non existent its hard to find other streetfighter players let alone an arcade that has a recent one (last one i saw was original SF2)

and i think the last SF get together at someones place was 3 of us about 3 years ago. first and only time thats ever happened for me since i started playing 15+yrs ago ha ha.

online mode is a godsend for me in SF4. REAL PEOPLE!!!

I felt quite depressed about the limits to my skill progression until I read this thread about how to do harder links easiar: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=186686

Its the “Plinking / Tsuji-Style: KARA BUFFER Inputs for Easier Links and More!” thread.

In 2 months i’ve gone from knowing nothing technical about the game to at least understanding, bnb combos, chains, piano inputs, negative edge, kara-throwing, fadc’ing projectiles, AA’ing, reading frame data, cross-ups.

Now all thats left are meaty attacks, links and footsies to at least understand as well as when to Tech and to fadc in combos, oh and ofc matchups and regular execution improvements.

For someone that came into SF IV a novice/scrub or w/e I never stopped liking the game or intending to play it for years and years to come; so stop the 09 h8’ing or venting h8 as everyone wants advice to help them keep playing and helping boost the community, emotionless only fact driven forums where no debate was allowed would be so lifeless imo. I think it was Gootechs that said in a podcast its better to teach a scrub rather then crush them with h8; or something to that effect if the scene is going to thrive for years to come.

I play offline working on anything I have trouble executing, play with people next to me to increase my experience against multiple characters and stick to serious play on our SF Fridays. Past that I’ve spent just this last week raping RE5. Before that I actually started reading books again.

Don’t let SF4 consume you to a WoW-level of obsession. Keep in mind other options are available to entertain yourself and you’ll have a good balance going.

i wish you good luck with that then the sound of SF4 lock ins would be brilliant it distresses me that most of the arcades you see are filled with crappy 2p machines or bingo etc.
im sure theres lots of other UKers out there that would love a real arcade too!

SF4 = Video Crack. Damn GP is like leveling up in Final Fantasy, and there’s a constant flow of end-bosses when you hit the Finals match in Championship Mode. I find myself thinking of combos and situations while I’m at work/class. It’s bad, and only getting worse. I haven’t showered in two months. I have sores in places you don’t want to know about. I’ve had to replace the innards to my TE stick 3 times already. I’ve sold my car to pay my internet fees. I gave up my alcohol addiction for this. If I had children, I’d sell them off for a custom Seimitsu stick. I call my girlfriend a bitch and a whore when she harps on me for playing. I tell her she just doesn’t understand me. My Dorito and Red Bull diet gives me horrible diarrhea, and searing stomach pains. Heaven help me if they release new/more characters to the roster. I pity world of warcraft players for their constant grinding to power up, when I can get my Ultra and Super all in one round. And to top all this off, there’s a mouse who sits on my desk next to me while I play, and he talks to me. His name is Jerry. He tells me some cat named Tom is always after him. I hate that cat.
