I for one hate receiving second round. It makes me feel obligated to give my opponent seconds also, and when I don’t they get grumpy/mad. From my experience giving seconds is a bad idea because there is no guarantee that you will win the third round. I cannot count the number of times I’ve been given seconds and came out victorious. How do you guys feel about giving seconds?
Giving the second round away? I didn’t know people did that. I mean if I’m playing someone entirely new, and I destroy them first round or something, I’ll sometimes try to show them stuff, let them do some things the second round.
But I haven’t played in an arcade in foooorever. If I was playing like SF4 somewhere where I had to pay a dollar a credit, I’m sorry, I’m not giving away any rounds. I’ll still help someone new out, tell them the controls, give tips, heck even let them mess around the first half of the first round or something to get the controls into their head a bit, but I’m not otherwise giving rounds away at all.

That’s NOTHING. I THINK…I know why they used to do this at ucla when I was a kid, but some of the college students would try to get the 4th round by CHIPPING at each other until their health bars were even. They were good at it, but the real point is that it was ANNOYING and a time-waster

I agree, it’s more of an insult than a courtesy to let your opponent win. I use to let grown ass men win when I was a kid because they would either get belligerent or whine when they got beat to badly at the arcade.

wouldn’t give the second round if its only 3 rounds but if there are 5 rounds and I win two in a row from the get go, I’ll probably give them the next round and that’s about it.

well if one guy is noob compared to another, the other guy should give him a round so he can have more chance to practice

Giving seconds was something that people used to do in arcades (almost 5-10 years ago when the scene was kicking) but I don’t do this online. No point, your not paying so there’s no need to stretch your quarter’s ‘worth’.
First round - give it your all.
Second round - don’t give it your all. Let the opponent get used to what you did in the first round.
Third round - give it your all. Use completely new tactics from first and second round.
Sometimes you give it your all in the second round just to end up losing and starting the third round with no meter or something like that.

since your a fellow gouki… i usually go first\second round bar building, i allow myself 1 sa1 3rd round is strict(as much as possible) kkz\demon w\o ever getting trapped by my own bullshit when it matters. ie if i *need *to, fuck the demon\kkz. so i typically give seconds away but only with akuma, only as strategy.
