Just wanted to say that this thread is amazing. Been looking for someone to compliment Dorm/Doom and I think Chris could be the one since I love chip damage. TheDamned, what would you say are his top 3 special moves?
Hey people, I dont know if this is known or not but if the first hit of Chris’ grenade super trades with Dormammus chaotic flame it will cancel out the hitbox for it and you can run through the flame and get a free combo if youre fast enough.
Yeah, it does that with a bunch of hypers, it’s weird. You can do it on reaction to hail storm and the ice grenade nullifies stalking flare, so that’s nice.

OK I have to ask this. I can seem to 2 in 1 Chris’ OTG crH into boulder punch, land mine, or magnum. but i get Sweep Combo and Snap backs.
What am I doing wrong?

So you accidentally get Sweep Combo or a Snap Back instead of a special out of cr.h? Correct me if I’m wrong on that.
No, sir. I’ll elaborate.
When I want to do crH xx Snapback or crH xx Sweep Combo I get it all the time I’d say 100% for snap back 95% for Sweep (with the occasional derp into Grenades).
When I want to do crH xx Boulder Punch/Magnum/Landmine I can’t get it for the life of me.
Gotcha. I’d say I definitely hit Snap Backs and Sweep Combo more consistently as well, although that’s more of an online issue for me than anything. I tend to use the down of the cr.h as the down of whatever special I’m canceling into. The cancel window for the cr.h definitely has a little wiggle room so you should probably experiment with canceling earlier or later as well. That’s about all I can say though, I know it wasn’t much.
Try to remember this. Cr. H and low shot are only cancellable after the shot has come into contact with the either the floor, the opponent, or a projectile. So that tiny little time frame should be used for you to prepare for the combonation for whatever special move your looking to execute.
That’s the best and most shortest way I can explain it. If you have any questions or something like that, just reply.

crH xx land mine sounds like fun.
I don’t use or have any mid screen and in the corner, I only have ways to set up an air throw, but I don’t really consider those a reset since people can tech pretty well nowadays.
As for the combo, how would you do a st.h xx land mine when you DHC into Dante? Unless I’m just misunderstanding the question…

Oh, okay, but no, you couldn’t. At least , it wouldn’t combo due to hit stun. By the way, I got that combo recorded so I try to get it up tonight if not tomorrow for sure.

I think I missed your point. You’re talking about as a reset and I thought you wanted to combo into a land mine or grenade. As a reset, if the opponent forward techs, a lot of characters have moves that can hit Chris without being hit by the mine or grenade, so be careful of that.
They’d flip out of the s.H. I’d rather focus on working inthe :s::s: double flamethrower.

You can cancel the flamethrower into a launch, then immediately spike the opponent, magnum for a groundbounce and flamethrower again. It does as much damage as another super. It’s kind of broken.
