Ive noticed that noone ever plays as Gill. ALltho I havent tried him myself , yet , he looks like Urien on steriods!!! ALso his range , priority , power and specials seem to outweigh most attacks.
Why is there no vids of him being used? Am i missing something?
He’s a console only character and it takes about all of 5 minutes to learn how to use him effectively. Gill is also broken and unbalanced and would be just about as great to watch as ST Akuma vs ST Akuma.

if gill were allowed in any tournament, 3s would immediately be renamed “gill vs. gill strike”. hes so good theres no reason to pick any other character than gill if he were allowed, so no one uses him.

I don’t understand why you’d want to “shut your friends up” with a broken as hell character. Do you see professional baseball players in the little league bragging about how they just kicked a 7 year olds ass? Similar concept.

If picking Gill is the only way for you to beat your friends then there’s almost no chance of them shutting up. If you want to shut them up, pick an inferior character (Sean, Q, Remy, Necro, Hugo, Twelve) and win with one of them. Nothing about playing with or winning a match with Gill is impressive enough to shut up any scrub with a remote understanding of 3s.
Is it really that bad? 
Well , I can beat my friends with Hugo anytime tho , but I figured playing Gill will fuck it up so that i can get perfects all over. Yeah this sounds noobish i know

I understand your innocence but the bottom line is, don’t use Gill. It’s pointless. He’s so broken, he’s not even playable in the arcades.
Gill is a character that doesn’t require any level of skill to master. Whatever you do is guaranteed to hit anyways.:rolleyes:

akuma can beat gill
edit, i’m serious. gill has no wake up. and akuma hurricane leaves gill far enough on block that he cant do shit afterwards if akuma did another hurricane. so he has the same problems as urien in this fight and must rely on parries if akuma gets in and starts hurricaning. then when gill is knocked down what does he have as a wake up? pretty much nothing outside his lariat but that can be ducked under and so can his headbutt.
gill relies on parries way too much if the opponent gets inside on him and while he’s down so that could be a weakness someone could exploit if played in a tourny… and not some scrub on xbox lag

Look if you want to shut your friends up and they only casually play, pick up chun and learn to confirm her super. If your friends are good however, they’ll still probably beat you even if you’re using Gill.
I play a decent chun and Ken , but thats about it for now. SOmetimes , akuma and hugo. I played two of my friends tonight , using chun , too many perfect rounds So i guess I wont try gill.

Anyway this thread is dumb, the guy answered his own question in the first post. Range, priority, power and everything else exceeds that of all other characters. Add in the fact that he’s not selectable in arcades and nothing more needs to be said. I think the saita video (try searching at youtube) has some Gill stuff.
If you really wanna show off, get your friends to play Gill while you try to beat them using Sean.
But anyways, just let them learn the game and they’ll eventually improve so that you have competition. Why do you want to ‘shut them up’ anyways? Don’t you want them to improve so that you can improve in turn?
