(…You also liked Lex Luthor in Batman v. Superman though, whom not even jimmy1200 liked when defending that movie. [/just saying])
We’ve already explained why we disliked it here. To put it simply: it doesn’t look funny. In fact, it doesn’t look like anything more than a cheap and lazy cash-in attempt in, and thus it doesn’t look like a movie worthy of spending money on given it’s billing itself as a comedy, especially since we’re not actually obligated to see it just because the main cast has vaginae and just so that we won’t be labeled misogynists.
If you want to see it, then more power (and suffering) to you I guess. Save for Pertho and maybe jimmy1200’s masochistic asses, I don’t think anyone here is going to be stupid enough to see it given how poor the trailers have been or at least pay for it.
Speaking of the trailers, I suppose I should express that I am thankful towards for not falsely advertising this movie as likely to be good or even mediocre. So thanks for that, Mr. Feig.
Just a few quotes in this thread I wanted to save for when someone says “it’s not about women starring in this movie.” I’ll quote some more later. Remember, mods can see original posts after edits.
(It just occurred to me: When does this horror-fest come out anyway?)
Yes, we can.
No, the problem with this movie still isn’t about it being four women at all to the majority of people who already don’t want to see it. [/replying to Raz0r’s trolling seriously]
Yes, I can imagine being sent to the hospital. Why do you ask?
It’s not though. For starters it’s true that the women who were casted in this movie (as well as the director) are mostly known for chick flicks or female centric comedy movies/shows. That isn’t a opinion but a simple reflection of the facts. Therefore it’s perfectly within reason to assume that a movie starring women mostly known for chick flicks, that’s also being directed by a guy mostly known for directing chick flicks will most likely result in a movie that feels like a chick flick comedy. It has nothing to do about them being women and everything to do with the style and brand of comedy these particular actresses are known for. The same thing would happen if the cast of grown ups were the ghostbusters. A reputation counts for something and seeing as how the trailers have all looked like awful SNL sketches (which again these women are known for) are you really surprised by the reaction. This movie is the movie version sonic 06.
Just throwing it out there if you’re not a FOB fan to begin with there’s a 99.9% chance you won’t like the song. I’m not a fan, but I don’t think they’re terrible either anyways the song started out tolerable, then Missy ruined it yeah if this is the main theme song it is not doing the film any favors lol.
Am I the only one who actually liked the updated theme from the first trailer? Probabaly the only thing I actually liked about this whole reboot.
It doesn’t sound bad, but, it is the song of a hated remake, so it doesn’t matter if is the greatest song in history. It will be hated by default by many.
