GGXX SLASH Arcade & Console

The Guilty Gear XX Slash Console Thread

Just thought I’d try and spark some Slash discussion. So who you all been using? I’ve been using a lot of Venom latley, I like playing with his balls.

I’ve heard Order Sol is pretty poor, which makes me sad. Anybody using him?

I’ve messed around with him a bit, but I haven’t used him properly. He seems deep, I think it’ll take a while to get used to him. Although, I think Order Sol is going to be one of those characters where everyone thinks he’s crap at first because he’s obscure and complicated to use, but a year and a half down the line people will be beasting with him.

I never used to use Venom in #Reload, but I’ve figured out how to make use of his single balls and it really helps out his game. As soon as you get a knock down cancel straight to ball and start a completely safe Okizemie mix-up.

I think it’s going to be a while to get used to him though because once you start thinking about using mulitple balls in your game it gets very confusing. But, I’m quite happy with what I’ve figured out so far. I’ve seen a few match videos of him and he seems very complicated with all his multi ball set-ups, but his mix-up is unreal.

Ball, teleport is by far one of the craftiest tricks I’ve encountered so far. He’d have some insane unblockables if only the system would allow it. P, K, S, 2D leaves you with so many options if you get the knock down because you have 5 different choices of locations you can spawn a ball and teleport to. Of course some aren’t worth the teleport as the balls spawn near the groud, but off this combo you have one directly above and one directly behind which is 214K or 214S.

You’re also completly safe if you decide to hit one and follow it in because you’re covered. As long as you can keep getting those knock downs you’re in almost complete control, it’s awsome. One of my favourites so far is P, K, S, 2D x 214D (low, close ball) -> 2K, Dash, Okizemie.

How’s testament? any good

To be honest I never noticed much difference from what I tried of him, but I’m not a Testament user so I can’t quite tell.

Chipp and KY FTW!!!

Testament ain’t much different he’s got a few more Combos and he give a little more Damage!

Testament is really good now.
And hos is not as bad as everyone thinks…hes quite good.

Shit fucked up the first merge keep all discussion of this game(combos tiers cosplay porn etc etc) within this thread.

I just wanted to ask a question about a combo that I got in GGXX/ involving Sol’s new qcf+hs in mid air. I dont know anyone in south Florida thats good at GGXX so I just play with my scrubby ass friends (actually I know maybe one person but I rarely see him and he lives too damn far… he knows who he is), because I play scrubby ass players I must ask this question.

I got a combo with Sol Badguy (goinna be using some SF Terminology here).

(close) s.Slash, c.HSlash, c.Dust x Bandit Revolver [RC] (in air) Air Dust, Air Dust, qcf+HS. (w/ enemy near or on corner).

If you slightly wait for it QCF+HS does some sort of a Critical hit is it possible for the opponent to recover from that? because everytime I do it, it doesn’t seem like my opponents can, and I can continue doing air combo’s so long as that qcf+hs does its “Critical Hit” (donno what else to call it), I can juggle them from left to right atleast twice and remove about 75% health before damage scaling takes effect (though I only managed to do that one time I usually stop after the second part of the air combo - s.Slash, s.HSlash, j.K, j.Slash, dj.HSlash, qcf+HSlash after the enemy bounces off the wall from the first combo), im sure a shit load of you already know this as some of you have probably played this game month before me, but I just got it on my modified PS2 a month ago.

Anyway, I just wanted to know that cause if qcf+HS doesn’t allow recovery from that critical hit im goinna start making great use of it.

EDIT: Heres a Sol combo vid posted by Kairi in S-C.com Forums, it should show you what im talking about instead…

can you upload it somewhere. I will be using mostly sol in GGXX/

Ok dark shin … what you are talking about is starting the sidewinder loop. The sidewinder is the qcf HS move in the air you are talking about. And the critical hit you refer to is known as a clean hit in the guilty gear system. Its how the loop is done… you want to get a clean hit everytime. According to other forums you do that by hitting with the sidewinder as close to the other character and as horizontal as possible. You will know when you get it because it will make a different hit noise then before and the other character will hit and bounce off the wall. Clean hit will appear on the screen and they will not be able to tech until after you hit them with another move if I remember right. But if you can manage to get lets say another J.S into another sidewinder that clean hits then you can continue the loop. I hope this helps…:lovin:

Is it effected by the float bug?

My friend 's already doing it, right now I think he’s up to 10 hits?

Pretty much for me, I think Slash is really nicely balanced, I can see alot of people used in tournament play now, minus Order Sol and a few others.

Right now I’m using Dizzy, just because I’ve been using her since X2. I’ve kinda gotten into using Zappa, it’s kinda funny seeing him owning other characters you wouldn’t really expect him to whoop. But all I know Ky owns in this game, like alot.

I do believe after the 3rd sidewinder that the gravity does take effect Demon… But don’t quote me on that. I am not a guilty gear xx slash expert… yet…! But I am learning it and investing a lot of time into it.

I expect to be spamming Doobie Curve a TON now, that shit is too good.

greaterthanthree corner loops.

Sol’s Scrub Loop is still there:

-Set-up j.S-D, JC, j.S-D, HVVK

Also, since Bandit Revolver has jump properties now is possible to do this easy corner combo without having to jump install:

-2D, 236K, RC, j.S-D, JC, S-D, HVVK

Not Sol’s best combo but definitely nice considering how much damage it does and how easy it is to perform.

Boss Order Sol is a fucking pain in the ass to fight against. I-No is super easy compared to him.

Also, someone needs to come up with a Mission Mode Guide. Is not like they’re super hard, is just that I can’t read Japanese and I have no idea what the fuck I’m supposed to do. I managed to finish almost all of Sol’s missions (got up to damn Gold Sol in the last mission and lost, oh well) by just guessing what I was supposed to do in the missions but it would be much easier if I actually knew what I was supposed to do.

Does anyone know if it’s possible for lazy asses like myself to unlock stuff by time release like in previous GGXX games?

48 hours

what is Hvvk?

I can make a mission guide later when I go to my friend’s house.

I’m guessing HS Volcanic Viper - Extra attack.
