RenoROB’s Address to RenoCREW
Maybe more like Robin’s address to the concerns for RenoCrew…
I would like to first thank you Nick Y. for first being a friend and secondly a big part of RenoCrew…
Your friendship and kindness will definitely be missed… your incredible “turtle” skills is among the most annoying I’ve ever played with (and thats a compliment) I wish the best of luck and keep in touch…
We will surely miss you.
Thank You.
Robin Mizuno
Now for the meat of the Address…
If you recall a year ago I gave my observation about RenoCrew and I hope I motivated a few to wanna improve…
well here I go again…
I know Evolution is done for the year that does not mean we can slack down as a crew weve come a long way and now isnt the time to let it all go down the drain there are players out there that are still playing and we cant let them beat us
So here is my assessment for each and every one of you and if you don’t like what I have to say TOUGH (You heard me Im giving some tough love tonight)
JP - You know I have tremendous respect for you and your ability… I know your situation puts you in a precarious position. But, you are my partner in gaming and I need you to step up to the level I know you are capable of I need you to game harder, I need you to be at the level you were at during our time in CvS1 and CvS2 you know Im usually the hardest on you and its because I expect the most out of u I dont tolerate excuses and when you do I do call you out on them so thats all I have to say for JP
Paul You probably have the most potential out of the new players that are out there but that does not mean you are the best yet you need to learn a lot about general gaming strategies footsies, ranging, thought-out mind games your random mixups might be good at this level of competition but at a higher level those random mixups just will not work I hope the last couple of week that weve been playing that you are starting to see what I see when I play games another thing I would like you to do is never give-up on a new game or a new character it might not be to your liking but without knowledge of a game or a character you will be in a disadvantage when faced with those situations you can always fall back on a game you are comfortable with, although it may be easy you will never improve you will never reach your maximum potential
Chris Ill make it short and sweet with you GET OUT MORE and play more with the rest of the crew you have a lot to offer and a lot to learn too You are probably the most eager to want to get better but learning game on your own or through online gaming isnt going to get you game anywhere I have mix feeling about your game still I know you can win I know you are a great combo master but your gameplay still lacks the thought and I could be wrong maybe you just have amazing reaction but to me when I play you there are times when I can see you play good footsies and good mind game then there are times when all I see is you throwing out random high priority pokes with very little thought in them I hope you change your abilities thats is probably your next step to become a top rated player
J.C. STOP WITH THE MMORPG and HALO shit youve come a long way in the world of competitive fighting game and it seems you have thrown it all away I know you might not have a controller to play on but that does not mean you can slack off over the past couple of week I noticed a slack in you game I think you realize it too to say you dont have a controller is not good enough you played solid #r before u even had the game so there is no reason why you shouldnt be at the top of your game Secondly you need to learn more about mind games and footsies your game revolves too much around pattern and high low mixups… hoping you opponent block the wrong way depending on you opponent to give you the opening you need to win is never very smart and also very risky you know your characters good enough to not depend on that type of strategies to win your game
Nick C. As Ive told you before you have probably been the most improved among the crew and I respect that from you now you need to take your game to the next level complaining and giving excuse to why something does or doesnt work or why you lose isnt good enough If you want to take it to the next level you need to really focus on your character and its potential and like JC stop relying on pattern pressure to make you game At first you mixups were solid but now its the same rehash and its very simple to block and counter learn from your patterns and build off from them learn from how you are losing and build from them you once told me you want to make a name for yourself in the fighting game world and thats great but for you to do this you need to bring it to another level something where you build your game impromptu and nothing preplanned finally always take others suggestions at least try them and see the strengths and weaknesses from them it can only improve your game
Tantin I know you want to be part of RenoCrew and thats admirable one of the things you will have to learn first is to take criticism well the people that play with you are only here to help you game not to hurt them It doesnt take weeks to play you to understand how you play for a player like me it takes a matter of seconds to tell what is wrong with your game and another second to see if youve improved over a period of time whether we play you a week ago or a month ago unless youve become a fighting game prodigy overnight your game will go through many phases each of which most of the players in RenoCrew have already experienced and are here to help What frustrates me the most and probably my biggest pet peeve when it comes to gaming especially those who ask to learn from me is when they continue to play the game the wrong way after Ive explained to you how to play it correctly Now Im not saying hey be a pro overnight but if I tell you to learn to throw moves out without mashing I expect that from you not just one time but ALL THE TIME when I say if you want to master a character you need these fundamentals I dont mean do it 6 outta 10 times I mean do it 10 outta 10 times and I dont want to hear excuses and If you think thats harsh TOUGH then dont learn from me and continue to be the scrub that you are and dont even try to ask to be part of RenoCrew because well never accept you but if you take our suggestions and not mash learn to pull of basic combos basic trapsbasic moves and learn from others and really take it to heart and really try to better you game you will eventually be part of us RenoCrew was not formed from me telling people yes u can join no you cant mentality it comes from players around us accepting that to be part of the crew is to progress and push each other to the next level and if you cant offer that to us well then you wont be accepted I know youre a young guy you want to play games and you might not be able to play us all the time but there are so many things in the early stages of gaming that you could do learn basic combos and juggles try to perform them perfectly you play Anji learn to perform butterfly traps. Learn when to attack and when to defend and really learn to react by playing the computer and maybe win a round then play the next round without attack and all you work on is blocking learn to perform your attack on call all the time not just some of the time soon enough you will play a lot better than you expect finally NEVER put yourself down whether its a joke or not low self-esteem justified or not can NEVER help you only hurt you you have to play positive always going into a match believing you can win and even when you lose you got to pick and learn from your mistakes hope you take what I had to say to heart and really improve
Angel WHERE THE F*** are you man!!!
Andrie - WHERE THE F*** are you man!!! STOP PLAYING HALO!!! Heh
Nick S. - WHERE THE F*** are you man!!! I rarely ever see you I dont know your level of commitment to the fighting game scene but if youre still interested I hope you come back and play
PJ/LUKE I hope you start coming out more to play and I hope you play the games that the rest of the crew plays as well I know its hard to play a new game especially if you like a game like CvS2 a lot but the game is dead CFE or CFJ and GGXX #R is what the crew plays and I think you two will be a great asset to the community and I hope you will try to play with us
Chambers You surprise me man I know I dont talk to you very much you scare me sometimes tall white and black hair that combination just scares me hehe j/k dood you have game but like Chris I see the same flaws in your game as well you are too pattern oriented in your game you try to attack with the same setups and pressures you need to expand your game try out new stuff and be creative in your gameplay what makes fighting game interesting is that no one patter will ever work and each game is evolutionary things constantly change what is good today wont be good a week from now or a month from now so learn to broaden your gameplay you have two friend who constantly play you try to teach them to at least get at your level you seem to have such an easy time vs. them motivate them and give them advice to play as good as you like with them learn to play other games like GGXX #r and CFJ it will only make your gameplay better
Finally
Robin You need to learn to be more consistent in you moves and your combos you know the basics and you know what you need to improve your game never let your game go stalethere is always room for improvements and you need to learn to reach the unreachable being good is never enough you need to set high standards and look for new ideas to improve your game juggling multiple games is hard but youve done it before If you want to leave the gaming community on top then you need to go back and really start gaming set new standards rise its level you have a bunch of great players to work with teach them to never to say good is enough the best is what to strive for always be willing to learn from others you may have the most experience that does not mean you know it all there is always things to learn from others so keep an open mind when other try to tell you stuff being hard headed will only but barriers and prevent you from moving on to the next level
With this I would like to say goodnight
For those who want to bitch at what I have to say go on do so but really look deep down at yourself you might not want to accept it you have to realize that what Ive said is true instead of bitching and crying. PROVE ME WRONG BRING IT ON
