This patch is garbage
i really don’t like repeating myself on forums
now, maybe one could say that i’m putting it in wrong or something is happening to stop the patches from working. but other than that, i don’t get why this fucks up
Ok so I was finally able to connect to one person, Chaos, using 1.08. It seems that if I try to connect, it always gives me a black screen. If the opponent tries to connect, we can at least select characters but then a black screen occurs. Still don’t understand why.
you dont have to repeat yourself. i know exactly what you said. and the fact that everyone shows as wrong version other than a couple friends, proves it even more so.
anytime you update the patch from an older version, you have to delete your ggxx.exe file and restore the original one(which was renamed ggxx.old, which you have to rename back to ggxx.exe). after thats done, then you apply the new patch. if you dont do this, the patch will give you an error everytime, in japanese.
so if you want to play on 1.08. you need to do the above method, patch up to 1.07, then download 1.08 beta, its just 1 .dll file, not a patcher, and overwrite the old dll file in your ggxx directory with it. it should prompt you to overwrite
Been playing this all day. So much fun. The lag isn’t too bad for me. I was actually managing to do some RFC’s here and there. Name is Waxx online. Good games to all that I played. Sorry if I droped on anybody. My PC is kind of bad.
well this was fucking stupid. I know I replaced that .dll before. Maybe I replaced the backup one by mistake. but anyway, thanks
I agree.
anyone know why i can’t join games? if people challenge me, its fine, but if i challenge people, it never starts…
weird… I had a theory that people with better computers load much faster than the person they want to play, so they’re unable to connect because their computer doesn’t wait long enough for the other player. But what you just told me put a nice dent in it…
Some questions:
- Can you play this windowed instead of full screen?
- Under the button config menu how can I set the buttons to work with my stick?
- How do you close the game?
- yes
- yes
- esc
Playing windowed makes it run to slow for me. dunno about anyone else though.
i play on window runs fine to me
Okay, so now my question is HOW do you play it windowed? And can someone translate the button setting screen so I know where to set my buttons?
For Windowed mode, it’s the very top left option in config.exe. For button settings…
circle = hardslash
x = kick
triangle = punch
square = slash
As for the other ones, I don’t remember exactly what they were…I think the R’s are respect (taunts).
There is an english version of the config around somewhere. I’ll see if i can find it.
R1 is Dust, L1 is memory (PKS is what most use it for i think), and L2 is Respect. R2 is for whatever you want it to be.
Okay, another question. When I go to set my stick, the config wont recognize it. Is there a driver or something I have to install for it?
Ok someone with really good technical knowledge, please help me fix this. I’ll state my problem again:
The game works fine when I use patches 1.06 and before. The moment I got 1.07 and 1.08, it just failed to connect. If the opponent tries to connect, we can select characters but the match never starts (you can hear the music though). If I try to connect, we can’t even get to the character select screen (but you can still hear the character select music).
I do not have any firewalls running, nor do I have a router. And as stated before, it worked fine in the previous patches, so what could possibly be the problem? One oddity is that when I go to canyouseeme.org, it says port 10000 is blocked. However, it says that even though the 1.06 patch works for me, so I’m not sure if this is the problem really. What was changed in between the patches that would cause this to happen?
The translated config file is here -> http://www.angelfire.com/psy/guilty/
I’m enjoying this so far, but I have a big problem. I’ve been playing with a buddy, but, after some trash talking and insults on IRC about who beat who, we reached the conclusion that we weren’t playing each other: we were both beating computers.
We tried again a few minutes ago and it was the same: after two matches, we both got a carebear as opponent.
If I’m not mistaken, when this happens both players get computer opponents and play until someone reaches three rounds, then the other one gets back to the lobby without finishing his map.
Anybody else experienced this?
