How do I sticky it?
Only a moderator can make threads sticky. I think before it can be made sticky or official, we should work on a solid time and location. Follow the example of the tournament threads. People need to see clearly defined rules, and a set time and venue for the event. There also needs to be some kind of backing with a reputable organizer. Or at least a guarantee that it will happen.
I think a lot of ground needs to be made before this becomes official. Why donāt we start by introducing each other properly?
We appreciate your eagerness to start a tourney, and to go out and challenge other players takes guts, but it wouldāve been nice if you had first introduced yourself, or if we had known who you guys were first.
Participating in an out of state tourney and meeting other players would have been a good first step. As it is, many players donāt know who you guys are and the whole thing seems kind of random. You need to give out of state players more incentive to visit.
Iāll start I suppose. My nameās Michael, Iām currently in college in Atlanta, and Iāve been playing GGXX since '02. My main character is Ky. Right now the ATL GGXX players meet semi-regularly on Fridays and Saturdays. We also are always eager to meet other players and go to as many tournaments as possible.
We would be happy to travel and play you guys, but I think it would help to know more about Birminghamās XX/#R scene in general. Iāve talked to Doren2k online before, and we also used to play with Colin āhalcyonryuā a lot while he was still active.

Iām 16 and I have been playing GGXX for a good year and a half. Iāve been playing MvC2 for a year and CvS2 for 6 months(but due to superiority to the N-groove, I think that I can beat some people)
I used to go to a school where fighting games were a main issue around the campus. C-notes and gambling were the ideas but not mine. My old school still has fire to them but only through GGXX, SSBM, and SC2.
I am an all-around Chipp and Sol player but donāt ask me about FRC timing cause mineās is WAY OFF THE BEAT! I was 2nd in my class before I left. My homeboy created a underground society for GGXX EXPERT FIGHTERSā¦The Best in the City: Da Gear Headbussas. We were know only to our corners of the hood but we never had a reputation in the city.
We disbanded in 04 because our leader moved to Maine and our co-leader got into some gang activity and said he couldnāt play anymore. With me as the acting leader my final order was to disband the nine member team.
I still talk to them but I disagree that they will step out of the underground and trust meā¦it wasnāt easy and the reason why I havenāt been to any tournaments was the fact that I came to these forums to take part in fr8(and i STILL DIDNāT GO!!!)
But Iām glad I came here. I apologize for my eagerness once again.
Hmmm, I didnāt exactly mean it that way, eagerness can be a good thing.
Itās refreshing to see new players on the scene, especially ones with spirit and enthusiam as yourselves. I think you guys are on the right track, and the idea of a team challenge was made with the right intentions.
All Iām saying is, if you want this to happen, and encourage out of state players to participate, there needs to be more of a solid base.
Some suggestions for things you can do: (1) Go back to the first page, and clearly type out what the exact location and time is, clearly outline all the rules and games that are being played. (2) Start a pre-registry list in the first post. This will let people see whoās coming and encourage them to come themselves.
You can start by adding Team ATL to the pre-reg list:

Whatever anyone told you at FR8 about me was just a concotion of their imaginations. :badboy: But Iāve been playing Guilty Gear since it first came outā¦in Japan, not America. a friend had an import andā¦yeah, anyway. Guilty Gear is the only game I hold some ground in. I donāt care about losing, cause itās funnier to lose than win. But uhmā¦Iām super supportative to my teammates and thatās about it.
