MBurningStar I heard you were good from the people who played at FR8 DONT TRY TO FOOL US WITH THIS!!!
Would you guys be open to the possibility of holding it outside of B’ham? We might be able to gets folks from SC, TN and Miami to come in if we hold it in Atlanta. I know you guys want to promote your own tournament though.
Also timing it somewhere in the summer is kinda vague, because a lot of us don’t know what our summer plans are yet. I might not even be in Atlanta.
Yusuf, we need you for this team man.
Well I’ll do it nonetheless. Anji 100% Still. Mad someone spread all these rumors around that I’m good. I’m :lame: I think Anji’s 6HS is the best shit in the game. XD. Either way, can’t wait to play. Not to mention Evo this year. I hope
Wasup cuzz you need to get at me. You haven’t beat everybody in the ham yet to try and start a tourney vs ATL. I’ll get you someone to play to see where you stand. Also I don’t think you know how to throw a tourney, nobody is gonna drive 2 hours for a 3v3. It’ll be more of a get together.
Get at me 276 4301 I can’t ever get in touch wit you.
I’ll go, set it up fellers. There’ll be a TN team even if we need to borrow someone from another crew cause jio’s a little homo for not playing #R anymore (he’s raping in tekken tho!). Ok, so he’s a big swole homo, but u get the idea.

I think I understand what’s going on…I’ll probably post later…i’m kinda stuck…
Raekwon187 is right. This is more of a get together but I am trying to get everything together even though everyone told me that I was way over my head with this. I think that everything will be fine. KDX and Kombatfreak thanks for your participation in this project.
A lineup of games that will be at this “get together” will be posted lata.
GO Atl.
First of all I have to thank Raekwon187 for setting my head on straight about this whole thing. Even though I am still going through with it, I see it in a different light than before.
AND SO, BASIC LAYOUT OF TEAM TOURNEY (I understand that if u have a problem with this being a little early but this is a fresh idea in my brain and I would like to keep it there)
All SouthEastern States can participate in this.
The basic rules are as follows:
- All teams will consist of 10 players.
- These 10 people will be split in 2 teams: Team A- 1st-5th in state and Team B- 6th-10th in state.
- These teams will have 2 leaders: 1st place will be the leader of Team A and 6th will be leader of Team B.
- Format of tournament will be apples with apples, oranges with oranges in which means a 3rd vs 3rd match and so forth.
- If your state as a whole have a record of 1-1 with another state then the 1st of each state will go at it to a fight to the bitter end.
- A NEW RULE TO ALL OF YOU: If your team is in the loser’s bracket and you want revenge on the state that you lost to you must first beat your loser bracket opponent and then declare a revenge match in which means who ever loses is DQ’ed from the whole tournament.
- If you know that your team has lost a match, PLAY IT THROUGH!!! If you are losing 3-0 play the remaining 2 matches.
- If one of your teammates do not make it, your leader should tell me.
The Games that will be played:
Guilty Gear X2 or #Reload
Capcom vs. SNK 2
Marvel vs. Capcom 2
Tekken 5
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Games under Negotiation:
Third Strike and Soul Caliber
sorry those rules disqualify TN cause we got 2 traveling guilty gear players and maybe 5-6 that travel for other games, rofl…
-KDX-
Don’t worry about it.
I will make sure that TN will represent.
That’s a good start, but I think KDX is on the right track in suggesting that 10 is a bit much. Regardless of what game it is nowadays, you’ll find that most communities have a hard time getting together 10 players. That and people won’t like being classified into A and B groups. My personal suggestion would just be to run 3 on 3 in King of Fighters format, which is typically what happens at tournaments.
Depending on the number of groups that enter for a given game, you might want to run a round robin tournament instead of the standard double elimination. That way everyone plays everyone. Generally speaking, turn out is not high enough for team tournies to sustain a full bracket.
You have some interesting unconventional rules, like the leader vs. leader tie breaker, and the revenge clause, but I think you might want to run a more traditional tournament, and leave that stuff for fun casuals later.
Good point but lets do it this way:
Round Robin would probably be 4-6 at a time.
The A+B Team is now a figment of my imagination and so is the 10 players.
A 3v3 standard is in order. Although i’m afraid that there would be more than one team reppin their state.
But…I am taking refuge in your request…
I’ll holla back at cha.
I think it should be 3 vs. 3 that would be the easiest way imo. 10 vs. 10 is to many. And if its 3 vs. 3 there would be enough people for each team. Can’t wait to see how this turns out!!! Keep up the planning Silent SHinobi.
3v3 is good and to make it nice and fun for everyone, I’d also make it a round robin for actual rounds (so close fights get rewarded and blowouts get punished), and make it 2 out of 3 matches and 3 out of 5 rounds…
that way everyone is pretty much guaranteed to fight at some point and it will be fun and last more than 1 hour (like most team tourneys)
-KDX-
yeah I think that would be good to so that it can last longer. And then after 3 vs. 3 Have the ultimate CASUAL MATCHES so I can beat everyone with JAM!!!j/k
I could possibly fill in for your man down…i run baiken tho…and if i can make it
word, =)
u got first dibs at the job then if u make it, ^^ otherwise we’re gonna have to recruit the odd man out of team bum again!! hahaa…
-KDX-
I dunno what you’re trying to pull man, it’s supposed to be a Team ATL showing, jumping to another city or state defeats the purpose…KDX can’t have you.
=(
