GGXX: Anji Mito

I’m not exactly sure which Kai(k)you’re talking about. The one in #R or XX. Forgive me for not paying attention, but if it’s the #R version, the FRC can be used for cross-ups, and even mild air throw setups.

Are we migrating back to GCC now that its back up?

I think the jist of us are switching back to GC. That excludes me and a whole lot of others who now just migrate back and forth.

My bad I mean XX. Should have thought about it earlier

GCC went down…again. Depressing.

it is

whats wrong with it

Tragic’s been moving around of late and so couldn’t maintain the site for awhile. He’s probably doing some matienence on it. Also the confirmation of XX#R on Xbox live ruined my best pair of pants yesterday.

thats to bad, but will some one please answer my question I posted earlier about anjis kai (k version in XX) what are some good uses for it besides a cross up.

what are the basic Butterfly trap strings?

It is not a good move.

really well at least some one replied i guess i should stop using it

major arguement

hey you guys have to read this:

Not really much in XX. Using it in XX is kind of a no-no anyway. Usually one of my friends either airbrabs me or just grabs me when I land. Upon blocking it, there’s not enough block stun on your opponent to actually do anything afterwards. It’s just sort of pointless unless you’re going for like an absurd mix-up game. It’s only real applications start in #R.

Only time I use Kai (K) in XX is if someone is getting lazy and always blocking low on trap strings. If you catch them with it the butterfly hit allows you to juggle into On.

You can also RC it for a juggle into On but the move rarely hits to make it worth it. Use it in #R when the FRC makes it much more useful.

236HS

I can’t figure out what the best way to follow up a counter hit HS Fuujin (236HS) is.

I’ve been able to hit with it more frequently as a counter hit, now that I have the invulnerability timing down.

In the corner I’ll usually do a 5S, 5HS, 623HS, after a counter hit Fuujin, then follow up the On (623HS) with a juggle or air combo.

But out of the corner, is it possible to follow up with anything? And in the corner, is that the best follow up?

236HS

Don’t use 5S, 5HS, On, unless you are playing #Reload. That could be techable in XX for some characters. Use 5K, 5S, On, instead.

Anyway, you should almost always go for a perfect butterfly trap, after an On. Damage after On is severely prorated, and whatever air combo you do has minimal damage, and you’ll get far MORE damage afterwards if your buttefly unblockable is successful. Unless, of course, if your opponent is almost dead, then you can finish them off with Issen Ougi or air combo, after an On…

Re: 236HS

Ah, thanks. That’s good info.

But, my main question was what to do after 236HS Fuujin (counter hit)?

In the corner I can follow up, but out of corner?

And, usually after 5D I’ll do :
S, HS, JC, S, P, S, P, S, HS, 214P
Is that pretty standard?

Since I ues alot of DA’s for zoning i tryed to see what combos you could do after them I will post what I find later.

Re: Re: 236HS

I’m not exactly sure what you’re asking, but… assuming I know what you’re saying:

After a counter hit HS Fujin, you should STILL be able to rush in, then do 5K, 5S, On. If you hit this midscreen, it should wall bounce. If they actually manage to tech, just super jump and air throw them, then 5S, On.

Also, 5D for Anji is really slow, heh. You’ll almost never connect with this, but it does work once in a while. In midst butterfly trap or in midst of doing repeated 2Ps, maybe…

Anyway, the best thing to do after a connected 5D is just do an Impossible Dust, either by:

a) FDing, then doing fall HS before screen turns red, (land), On or;
b) up(homing jump), up(jump cancel) fall HS before screen turns red, (land), On

Then butterfly trap.

I know, I know. Anji seems to be a boring and one-dimensional character since most of his offense revolves around landing an On -> Butterfly trap, but that’s where most of his damage comes from, anyway…
