If we get this many Anji players maybe we could just turn it into a round robin Anji side tourney or something of that nature. Either way should be some good fun.

Oh, and since this is an Anji thread… I think the Japanese players ability to RC out of a Kou on the first hit (of the Kou) and follow up with a juggle -> air combo is just silly.

I’ve also seen them tiger knee a Shin Nishiki and RC the first hit, then juggle and air combo.

Probably nothing new, but I don’t play GGXX that often, so to me it was impressive.

has anybody tried playing mind games with anji’s butterfly trap?
since it has about 4 strings it isn’t that hard and itt works pretty
this is my favorite throw a butter fly run in and do that electric air move that anji doesi think its 2147p since they be expecting a low attack this just gives them something else to worry about you can even instant airdash and do k, s, 2147p the butterfly may hit him or not but sometime it won’t matter anji is agood character its just that half of his stratrgy involve knowing your opponents attck routine

The butterfly trap is all about mindgames, since you can only get a perfect setup off an On you have to be tricky to land traps consistantly. Everything from baiting moves (like invinciple uppers) to crossover attacks, to tiger kneeing the orb you mentioned is all part of making Anji’s trap game work. When you start landing the more creative traps you can get your opponent worried enough that they’ll forget to get away from the normal ones.

Anyway, I was practicing a Fujiin loop in #R recently. This is the one I was able to do.

From midscreen:
… 2D, 236S (RC), 66, 5S©, 236S, K hop, 2P, 5S©, 236S, K hop, 2P, 5S©, 623H

All in all, the damage was not that great, considering the effort. It was something like 20 more damage than skipping the loop and doing 5K, 5S, 623H. I suppose the 2P prorate causes the low damage. Maybe theres another loop that doesn’t use 2P?

Wouldn’t 5K work in place of the 2P during the loop?

The prorate would probably reduce the damage about the same though.

I’ve seen version that use K, S, Fujiin Hop, or just S, Fujiin Hop and then end the last loop with 2P, K, S, On. It’s all real character specific though.

On Dizzy it should be real easy to do.

Hmm… I tried the loop with just Hop, 5K, 5S, 236S, but I couldn’t land it. I’ll have to try it when I get home today.

I don’t recall 5K having a prorate in #R, though I could be wrong…

On a different note, I found a good air-throw setup that has worked a good number of times for me. On a blocked butterfly trap string in the corner, I’ll chain another 236P off of 2D. Sometimes the other guy freaks out and tries to jump out, so I just sj into airthrow. This other one is kind of risky, but its flashy as all hell. In my experience, if someone has burst and I’ve just started a butterfly trap (imperfect or perfect, doesn’t matter), he’ll more than likely burst right after the first normal hit after the first butterfly (i.e. the 5K in 5K, 2S, 2D, 236S). If he bursts, you can quickly do a sj after the 5K (or any JC’able move) into an air-throw. Its actually easier than it sounds, though it is pretty difficult, and it makes your opponent want to punch you in the face.

Guard point on 6K comes as Anji’s foot reaches it’s full extension. I.E. it’s not on the startup but where the animation finishes out. 6K has a couple less frames of AutoGuard compared to 6HS if I remember right but its still a very valuable tool.

I have plenty to do. I just am just avoiding doing any of it.

Edit: What are some good jump install combos? The one I’ve been using recently is 214P, 5S© [JI], 5S(f), sj.S, sj.P, sj.S (JC), dj.S, dj.H, 214P.
