Block the c.dust, and immediately VV. You will need to start he motion early, the timing is tricky but you should master it. It will help you alot against any character that abuse block stun or chip you alot. Examples; Slayers s>s>mochpunch string, another Sol’s k>s>c.dustXXgunflame. In both examples you are using the invincibility frames of your VV to out prioritize thier specials. The frame window is so small that you dont have time to wait for block stun to end before imputting the command, which is why I said its tricky. But you should learn it, is a good thing to know if you are ever being rushed down. You can do this to alot of characters, expirement.
I forgot to mention, from maximum range it may wiff depending on which character you are doing it on. But you will have to deal with whatever they conjur for you on your way down =/ Which in closing, is why you should not become predictable about it. But then again, its not very often Sol actually has to pull this out so you should be ok.
Probably the easiest way to deal with any canned string that your opponent abuses is with Instant Block. If you can’t punish them on normal block, use IB to reduce your guard stun and leave you closer to them. Makes it hella easier to punish certain strings. Also keep in mind that you take more guard/hit stun when you’re ducking, so make sure to factor that in.
In short, block the c.Dust, then standing IB the Tatami, and punish accordingly. This is just a small example; you can IB at any point in a string of moves, so sometimes you can IB strings and punish in-between moves (example, Ky’s Stun Dipper).
*note: this all sounds good, but it’s something that requires practice; I don’t even do it on a consistent basis, but I know it works.
Masaka, this is to you (and others as well if you can help) since you have stated you mastered Jam. I have been using her for a while now and my biggest problem is putting pressure on some one. I can get in fine, but staying inside presents a problem. I usually rush with a [k>s>s>c.d] string, mixing that up with [k>s>d], [k>s>IAD] etc… if I am near the corner. My problem is, I cant get into a safe high low or rush game. When I rush I get counter hit because she lacks range. Some times I will do f+hs~rc or try to bait counter hits with it but I have no threatening follow ups. If I get the CH, if I am not close to the corner I cant do anything but either go for the safe knock down, or try for a dust. Sometimes, If I ground them and attempt to pressure, I get thrown for standing over a downed opponent. The most obvious way to solve this is not to stand over them. But if I let them stand up for free I significantly put myself at a disadvantage. Basically, I dont have much of a problem getting in, but I have a problem staying inside. And I have an even worse problem doing damage. Most people just block high regardless because they know the worst I can do is c.dust them. I need a way to punish people for crouch-blocking/high-blocking that is fiesable. Maybe I am asking too much. But I seriously cant figure out a high low game that works. I just get thrown or they block compotently and punish recovery…
Also, dont bother responding if you are going to tell me Jam isnt good. Its obvious by now after a year since the game has come out that if I am playing her it is a personal venture. So keep the bull shit to a null.
Hiyas, just got GGX for DC, and our Arcade has GGX 1.5. I have been starting to play Axl. I was wondering what are his major differences between GGX, 1.5 and X2? Also I’d like to know what are some useful combos common to all versions. I have already figured out his basic ground chains as well as some simple K > f+P > S > DP+HS juggle combos as well.

I apologize I couldn’t find more. Also, the match vids aren’t THE best since sometimes the 2 players clearly aren’t of the same caliber especially in a Testament vs. Potemkin match I saw.
However the Baiken vs. Slayer match was very useful since you could tell the 2 players knew what they were doing.
This is coming from the viewpoint of someone who frequently uses Slayer and Big Po.

wtf… only Jonny can mist cancel. Without using level you can cancle the some moves by jump canceling, 2 and 1’ing into a special move or comboing it. In all cases it must be after the actual hitting frames in the move animation. The only way to cut off moves before this point is with a false roman cancel, which only works with certain moves.
